Read it your way

Located right across from UT Austin in West Campus, this modern hotel caters to campus visitors and weekend getaways. Guests appreciate the friendly staff, late-night drinks at the bar, and convenient bites from Zombie Taco. However, rooms are noticeably tiny and lack in-room coffeemakers, while thin room doors let in hallway noise and vacuuming. 184

  • Location-wise, this hotel is fantastic. It's right across from UT Austin, and in a very safe location (West Campus), even at night, given it's primarily a student neighborhood. 18
  • Starting with the most stunning one, the Otopia Rooftop offers breathtaking views of the university, including the UT Tower, football stadium, and business school. 20

  • The bar stays open late (for a hotel), they had a street taco place within the hotel, so that was cool. 4
  • Even on the 10th floor, I could hear some of the buzz from the street, but thankfully, things settled down by midnight. The noise never lasted all night, so it wasn't a huge issue. 15

  • The room rates are a little on the pricier side though. 18
  • Zombie Taco, our 24/7 taco truck style food counter and take out window serves as an answer to late night cravings. HOWEVER like everyone states you need to pay for parking ( 55 daily ) and the hallways are ugly IMO compared to other hotels so the hotel itself is not worth the price. 18

Service7 mentions
  • The TV was nice and larger, but the interface was so laggy to use. 18

  • BUT IF YOU GO HERE THE STAFF ARE AMAZING IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT FOR THE LOOK OF THE HOTEL!! 18
  • The TV was nice and larger, but the interface was so laggy to use. You can connect an HDMI cable to it though (WiFi is plenty fast as well). 18
  • Apparently, they say they only do house keeping after the 3rd night, but somehow they did house keeping for my room after my 2nd night which was nice. 18
  • Dressed in polished attire, the entire team exudes the professionalism you'd expect at a higher-end hotel like this one. 20
  • Thank you, Moxy, for providing such wonderful service during our short stay in Texas. 18

  • But the next day, I needed to do some Zoom calls and had to use my carry-on suitcase for a good angle bc the desk was so low. 4
  • You can connect an HDMI cable to it though (WiFi is plenty fast as well). It also would have been nice if the room came with a mini fridge and microwave since there was definitely space. 18
  • I called the front desk for help, but they told me maintenance wouldn't be available until morning. Lesson learned: If you're staying at the Moxy, don't mess with the TV settings after hours! 15
  • I would have liked an in-room coffeemaker. However, complimentary coffee was available in the lobby. 18
  • There's also the main CapMetro rapid line bus stop right across that takes you to downtown. Our room was immaculately clean with a great view through a large window. 18
  • I was in Louisville for a evening dinner program and tried The Moxy. It was close to my venue so I tried it as a change of pace. Wow. The rooms are TINY. Even the corner room was small. 4
