Room10 mentions
  • We stayed in the Gaslamp Quarter Loft Suite - 1 King which is located on the terrace in the Lofts building. I've read that the rooms were recently updated and not to sound dramatic, I was speechless as soon as I stepped in. This suite was...I don't think the word 'stunning' will even suffice. 11
  • The Hilton has a luxury section called The Lofts, though it's a bit complicated to reach from the main lobby, involving a journey up one floor, across the terrace, and then up an elevator to your room. 12
  • Attention to detail is evident in the stunning contemporary decor throughout the common areas and 317 guest rooms and suites. 6
  • No wifi except in lobby where it only works in some spots and there is no safes in the room. 13
  • The one-bedroom King Suite is 462 square feet of modern comfort with a Hilton Serenity King bed, separate living room with Queen sleeper sofa, and city views from floor to ceiling windows. It's warm and sophisticated. 5
  • The ceilings were extremely tall which added to the luxe feel and the decor/furniture styling was immaculate to say the least. 11
  • The large lobby has comfy furniture and outdoor yard games. 15
  • Spacious King Whirlpool Rooms include comfortable chairs and a sofa, and the deep whirlpool tub offers views of living area and bath. 12
  • The standard King room with a city view is very basic (but does come with a jet bath tub!). 10
  • See if you can find the painted rabbits during your visit! We stayed in their King Bedded Loft Suite, featuring an oversize soaking tub and views overlooking 5th avenue and the Iconic Gaslamp Sign. We truly felt like we were living our best lives here! 8
Bed & Sleep2 mentions
  • And the bed was extremely comfy like sinking into a cloud. Definitely an A+! 11
  • The next morning was spent relaxing in the ultra-cozy bed then finally making our way downstairs to bask in the perfect weather and eventually have some breakfast! 8
Bathroom2 mentions

  • I also loved the bathroom's double vanity sinks and deep tub + walk-in shower. 11
Service12 mentions
  • The hotel sent items up immediately after a text request for extra towels or utensils. 15
  • Modern artwork complements the comfortable Hilton Serenity beds with white linens (sheets are 250 thread count), and rooms also have dark wood furnishings and abstract patterned carpets. 12
  • Immediate first impression of the hotel was how nice and clean the exterior and main area interior was. 11
  • Rooms are basic but bright with white linens and a neutral color palette. 6
  • Guests rooms feature comfortable beds with crisp white linens and a gold palette accented by rich berry hues and Spanish style bold patterns. 6
  • I had never been inside this hotel before and was thoroughly impressed with its beauty. I would describe it as retro chic. Very luxe, very posh but still family-friendly and approachable. 8
  • Service was also very pleasant. We had no problems being welcomed by the front desk staff and leaving our bags with the bellhop until the check-in time. 11
  • This is in part due to the value-added Virtuoso benefits that you can secure through me, but also thanks to its multiple restaurants and bars, fabulous outdoor pool deck with cabanas and bottle service, and five-star customer service. 6
  • From dedicated customer service to inviting accommodations, The Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter puts everything into making your stay memorable. 5
  • "Beautifully appointed rooms with down comforters, loft apartments, and individual attention from the staff make this downtown's best choice." 9
  • The hotel hosted a business party on the Wild Hare patio right next to the convention center, with fast staff follow-up. 15
  • With comfortable rooms and suites, as well as pet-friendly options, the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is the ideal choice for a fun and relaxing stay in sunny San Diego. 4
Location8 mentions
  • Given it's located in the heart of the Historic San Diego Gaslamp, the pro is that you can walk anywhere, but the con is the parking is not cheap. 10
  • The Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is a vibrant hotel located in the heart of the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Just steps away from the San Diego Convention Center and surrounded by lively bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues, this hotel offers a perfect blend of convenience and excitement. 4
  • Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is also conveniently located just three miles from San Diego International Airport (SAN), making it easy for U.S. visitors and international travelers to check out everything San Diego has to offer. 14
  • One of the best things about Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Hotel's location is its proximity to the San Diego Convention Center. 5
  • Modern Hilton with sophisticated design and excellent business amenities in prime Gaslamp location. 9
  • These two options are so close to the Gaslamp Quarter that they're often classified as Gaslamp Quarter hotels. We're only talking a block or two away, still a great location. 6
  • Not to mention it is in the heart of the Gaslamp District meaning you can do a TON in one day without catching an Uber! 8
  • A huge requirement for me was staying at a walkable hotel and the Hilton easily checked that box. The hotel is located in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter walking distance from Petco Park, San Diego Convention Center and tons of bars/eateries. 11
Food9 mentions
  • Restaurant Lou & Mickey's on the ground floor serves good food. 15
  • A pricey daily breakfast buffet and California-inspired lunch or dinner fare are available at New Leaf Restaurant. 12
  • Even the straws are made from the agave plant! Our dinner was fantastic! We started off with some appetizers which included the mushroom empanadas, aguachiles and and drinks: 8
  • Pork belly is really good on the menu. 2
  • One perk of staying here is that the hotel restaurant is Brian's 24, famous for breakfast (pancakes and malted waffles especially) and late-night eats (an important Gaslamp Quarter staple). 6
  • The Hilton Gaslamp quarter has the location in it's favor, but it's a pretty standard hotel. It's one restaurant on site is just so-so, the lobby isn't anything special, it lacks a great bar environment, and there are too many other options in the area to pay such a premium just for the location. 10
  • Guests receive complimentary tickets to the breakfast buffet at the hotel's New Leaf restaurant, giving your day a healthy, delicious start. 14
  • Lou & Mickey's restaurant on the ground floor serves excellent food. 2
  • Breakfast downstairs at the Wild Hare was amazing, they have a full menu with lots of tasty options. 11
Noise5 mentions
  • Second floor deck sits directly outside the rooms and stays quiet. 15
  • Both suites had automated curtains and awesome street views. 11
  • I also loved that the hotel was in such a desirable location. Also, although there was a ton happening in the area, it was still quiet around the property. 11
  • The rooms on the top floor facing the back have zero noise issues. 15
  • Room noise can be an issue -- a common problem for hotels in this neighborhood. 12
Value6 mentions
  • Not worth the money at all. This is not a corporate hotel and quite obviously this place is managed by a cheap franchisee. 13
  • Hotel rooms and suites are decorated in European style and offer free Wi-Fi. The one-bedroom suites tend to price reasonably for the area. 6
  • I think that part of the reason this San Diego Gaslamp hotel prices well is that they do not have a pool. 6
  • Rates are typically fair for this caliber, but the nearby Solamar and Andaz are also worth considering. 12
  • Hotel amenities make it a good choice for family travelers, the price point makes it great for the budget-minded, and its close proximity to the Convention Center makes it ideal for business travelers. 5
  • While I have stayed at this specific property a few times, unless you are getting a DEAL on the price, it's not worth it to book just for the great location. 10
View1 mention
  • A top option for people in search of boutique hotels in San Diego is Kimpton Hotel Palomar San Diego, just a few blocks north of the Gaslamp Quarter. I like the Skyline guest rooms on the top floors with prime city views, some with private balconies. 6
