The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Hilton Beijing delivers well-maintained, generous accommodations with rooms extending up to 64 square meters and comfortable king beds. Guests consistently praise the extensive breakfast spread featuring Chinese dumpling stations and Western options, alongside attentive front desk staff. However, in-room air conditioning can be problematic, with limited temperature control blowing warm air regardless of settings. 712

  • What astounded me about the room was the incredible size. The Hilton Twin Deluxe Plus room was one step above the base level, offering 64 sq. m. as opposed to 50. It was very spacious, with a study area, walk in wardrobe, and large bathroom featuring separate shower, bathtub and toilet. 7
  • The bathroom had an enclosed shower, an enclosed toilet, and a beautiful mirror. 4

  • The Lounge also offers breakfast, but we were given the option of the full buffet in the main restaurant (Chapter), which was incredible. A huge spread each day with a dumpling station, 10-15 different pastries, about 15 different hot item options and even more options from their cook-to-order menu. 1
  • the breakfast provided a great variety of both Western and Chinese options, guaranteeing a tasty start to the day. 2

  • Despite a very short stay, the Hilton proved an excellent break in Beijing. It's location was phenomenal, with a really short walk to the Wangfujing shopping and dining areas. 7
  • The location in the Wangfujing shopping area was excellent, with easy access to a nearby shopping center and the vibrant streets of the city. 2

  • The check in area was beautiful, my room was great, the lounge was refreshing, and the breakfast spread had many options. 4
  • The room had a great view of the airport and the king bed was very soft, just what I needed after a long international flight. 4

Service

  • As mentioned, the staff at the Conrad are top notch and happy to assist in anyway (Bob N. and Betsy) head up the concierge desk and were prompt in responding to pre-arrival requests. 1
  • The views over the hills into the distance were breathtaking (as were the climbs), and the photos I have have the occasional tiny dot of a person 500m away, but it really felt like we had this magnificent slice of history to ourselves. 3

  • Stayed at the Hyatt Wangfujing. We got a great price on a suite, kids welcomed into the exec lounge and they had a big pool (no caps required at least back then). 3
  • The next time I visit Beijing, I would definitely stay at the Hilton Beijing Capital Airport. It is definitely worth at least 40,000 Hilton Honors Points or $200+ USD. 4

Service10 mentions
  • Efficient check-in and check-out process. 2
  • Back then the Hyatt also had a brilliant deal where we were met at the gate of the plane by airport staff, escorted through immigration (they got us the right desk for transit visas) then diverted into some VIP area for the hotel van to whisk us into town. 3
  • Excellent tour desk and service. 2
  • As mentioned, the staff at the Conrad are top notch and happy to assist in anyway (Bob N. and Betsy) head up the concierge desk and were prompt in responding to pre-arrival requests. 1
  • the service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to fulfill our needs. 2
  • It's hard to describe what it is, but it's unmistakably Hilton. There was a short wait, after which the check-in agent completed check-in and registration very quickly, properly informing me of what room was selected, and all that was included in the stay. 7
  • The views over the hills into the distance were breathtaking (as were the climbs), and the photos I have have the occasional tiny dot of a person 500m away, but it really felt like we had this magnificent slice of history to ourselves. 3
  • The staff were super friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. 2
  • Following a significant battle against Beijing traffic, I was warmly greeted by bell staff at the Hilton, who carried the luggage inside and directed me to the front desk. 7
  • Before I arrived in Beijing, the front desk sent me a helpful email with directions on where to meet the airport shuttle. 4

  • The location in the Wangfujing shopping area was excellent, with easy access to a nearby shopping center and the vibrant streets of the city. 2

  • Convenient location, close to main attractions. 2
  • Despite a very short stay, the Hilton proved an excellent break in Beijing. It's location was phenomenal, with a really short walk to the Wangfujing shopping and dining areas. 7
  • We are walkers, so the couple of blocks to the station and the distance you have to walk in the stations to connect to a different line, may not be enjoyable for everyone. There is a nice park right across the street of the Conrad and for nightlife, there is Santilun within walking distance 1

  • the breakfast provided a great variety of both Western and Chinese options, guaranteeing a tasty start to the day. 2
  • the in-room breakfast was delightful and the restaurant offered a diverse selection of delicious dishes. 2
  • The lounge occupies the best space in the hotel on the top floor (it's the glassed area you can probably see on photos) which covers most of that floor - one area set up as a restaurant and several sofa/chair areas. It serves a full breakfast (buffet + freshly cooked) and a very good selection in the evening which includes very good Italian cheeses and impressive home made cakes/ chocolates. 3
  • Fabulous buffet dinner and breakfast. 2
