  • I got this hotel through priceline and requested an upgrade to an oceanview room when I checked in and got it for $50 a night. It was a nice price for an outstanding view. We got to see sunrise and sundown from our balcony. 18
  • We love this resort and the location. It's not terribly expensive to take a taxi to OSJ. As previously posted, there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, convenience and liquor stores right next to the Marriott. 17

  • As a Plat, the hotel was nice enough to upgrade me to a LARGE and BEAUTIFUL suite (even for a Plat, this is above and beyond the elite rules/guidelines!) with separate living room/bedroom on the side of the building, but with gorgeous full ocean view, because there was no highrise to block views. 7
  • Friends got upgraded due to Marriott status and got a corner room, I had the connecting room to it - fifteenth floor - very nice. 18
  • Pinky's just a couple blocks away became our favorite spot for breakfast and lunch. We got an ocean view room in the Cabana Tower which had a balcony with a table and two chairs, a comfy king size bed, an armchair, a chaise lounger, big screen tv, and nice walk in shower. 9
  • became our favorite spot for breakfast and lunch. We got an ocean view room in the Cabana Tower which had a balcony with a table and two chairs, a comfy king size bed, an armchair, a chaise lounger, big screen tv, and nice walk in shower. 9
  • Room amenities included a balcony, mini fridge, television, and hairdryer. These recently renovated rooms are crisp and clean, with flooring rather than carpeting. 23
  • The large suite rooms were not redone when I was last there and felt old. 15
  • San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino Pool at Night Room Quick and efficient service got us into our immaculately clean room within just a few minutes of our arrival. Our large room had a bed we wanted to take home with us; it was that comfortable. 4
  • We booked an entry level room and then got upgraded to large corner room with two balconies on the 18th floor. Room was humid 21
  • San Juan Marriott Resort may lack the glamorous decor of nearby properties like the Condado Vanderbilt and La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort, but it's guest rooms and amenities are nonetheless bright, modern, and inviting. 6
  • Room was very clean with nice amenities. 18
  • Loved the decor of the public areas. 17
  • Quick and efficient service got us into our immaculately clean room within just a few minutes of our arrival. 4
  • Only negative about the St. Regis is my wife got a lot of bug bites sitting out on the balcony reading her book on the outside daybed. 15
  • The room was very wet with the HVAC constantly running. Not sure if that was just because we had an ocean front room, but you could see the pages warping in our books it was so humid in our room. AC made the room cold but didn't do a good job of removing the moisture. 15
  • I stayed at the La Concha about a year ago and we had one of the upgraded, larger corner suites and I did notice a bit of cooling issues because I think the shape of the room and how large it was. 15
View4 mentions
  • On a recent trip I stayed 3 nites at El Convento and 3 nites here, at Marriott. Ocean view room and view was awesome. 12
  • The room has a fantastic view of the ocean and pool, and it also has a 180 degree skyline view. 3
  • We did upgrade our room from the city view to the pool/ocean view for $25 a night (requested when we got there) which was well worth it to us. 18
  • This Marriott is located on Ashford - beachfront. It also offers pool and ocean view rooms offer an amazing view (tip: ask for a room on a higher floor facing the ocean). 3
Service23 mentions
  • Good maid service, NIce bar and casino in the lobby. 12
  • Every single employee was professional and helpful aside for one. (I was waiting for the next desk person to help me and take a letter for the mail and she was looking at me and gossiping on the phone in Spanish. 12
  • I also find the rooms brighter and just feel better. If you will have kids this hotel feels more family friendly. 15
  • The line to check in was a little bit long and took about 20 minutes, but we were served free rum drinks. 17
  • Staff were everywhere (including security) and quite available. 21
  • Despite these drawbacks, previous guests said that the overly accommodating staff and delicious (but pricey) cuisine at the property's on-site eateries made their stays particularly memorable. 22
  • Property is beautiful and service excellent. 5
  • As soon as we arrived at the Marriott we felt transported into a tranquil place; the smiling and extremely friendly staff made us feel relaxed and welcome. 4
  • I could not find a thing to complain about. Everyone was friendly, helpful. 18
  • Quick and efficient service got us into our immaculately clean room within just a few minutes of our arrival. 4
  • Check-in can be slow at peak times 6

  • Within 10 or so minutes we arrived at the hotel and were welcomed by the bell hop. He helped us out of the cab, looked in the cab to be sure we didn't leave anything, told us where to go, and told us he'd keep our luggage safe if our room wasn't ready. That's service! 17
  • In general, the hotel property was very nice and the staff attentive. 9
  • Stunning ocean views complement the lively double-deck pool where staff deliver cold towels and drinks. 1
  • Our room overlooked the stunningly beautiful beach where the Marriott's splendid and responsive beach staff provided us with complimentary quality lounge chairs and an umbrella. 4
  • My experience was that the staff and guests were friendly and open. 3
  • The staff was incredibly friendly and we got some hilarious notes from housekeeping. 21
  • We stayed here last summer with our then 5 and 9 year old. They went down that slide 573 times. Pool side service was amazing. 21
  • In our opinion, the management and staff are on target with taking care of their guests; and we are certainly anticipating returning to this resort in the future. 4
  • 4) The "concierge" was just that, not really a dedicated and trained Concierge, but just whoever happened to be at the front desk at the time, and the information that we got from whoever was there was hit or miss; 7
  • This means you should be able to find seating in the shade or in the sun. There is a swim up bar in one of the pools, and waiter service that is fairly easy to flag down when needed. 13
  • I stayed from Oct 13-18..Beautiful hotel and friendly staff..great pool and swim up bar. 12
Food18 mentions
  • The restaurants, however, are high-priced, and the pools can feel crowded when the resort is at full capacity. 6
  • If you will have kids this hotel feels more family friendly. Also, if you have status the breakfast is great. 15
  • The resort is located in San Juan, about 15 minutes from Old San Juan. Many restaurants and shops, including a sizeable 24-hour pharmacy, are a short walk away. We were quickly able to walk for dinner each night. 23
  • Food and drinks at the hotel were fine in a pinch, but not at all authentic. 9
  • Cosecha: This is the resort's main restaurant, located along the pool area. It offers a full, buffet breakfast, along with lunch and dinner. Depending on your booking, some rooms may include breakfast, but others do not. We had every breakfast and one dinner at Cosecha, and really enjoyed it. 23
  • The restaurants had plenty of kid friendly options, there was a smoothie bar near the pools that seemed popular with kids. 9
  • Hotel breakfast was only OK but my wife enjoyed their "Mimosa Bar". 5
  • From your beach chairs, you can order food and drinks. We ordered a delicious lunch and drinks each day. 23
  • The restaurants had solid and diverse selections although our food service was quite slow at times. 21
  • The property was in need of a referbishment but the upgrate to a mini suite over the pool was nice and the conc. lounge was very nice (great food). 7
  • The resort's dining options are satisfactory but pricey. 6
  • Breakfast is served at La Latin Grill (with beach view), offering a nice range of breakfast items including eggs, toast, bagels, fruit and meats. The chef will make omlettes, waffles and other egg requests to order - I liked that. 3
  • The area around the resort had plenty of shopping and restaurants. I didn't notice too many attractions in the immediate vicinity around the hotel, but Viejo San Juan was a short uber or taxi ride away. 9
  • The buffet includes fresh squeezed orange juice, an assortment of fresh fruit, muffins, doughnuts and pastries, and an excellent selection of items, including custom prepared eggs and omelets and complimentary Mimosas. Obviously, the Brunch Buffet is highly recommended. 4
  • The food is not anything special, and we relegated ourselves to drinks and snacks. We figured it would be best to spend money on a meal back in Old San Juan. 13
  • The taxi ride from the port was extremely short, and the resort amenities are exactly what I think most want in a day pass visit. There was plenty of seating (we arrived after lunch), and the resort is well-maintained. 13
  • The area around the resort had plenty of shopping and restaurants. 9
  • Several restaurants in the area, their Italian restaurant, Tuscany had some specials and we ate there quite reasonably and it was quite good. 18
Value14 mentions
  • I hesitated about staying at the San Juan Stellaris because of some of the negative reviews and the ridiculously high price. All the beachfront resorts are quite pricey, so I even considered using Hotwire or Priceline. 17
  • My son loved the slide, but be aware that it's only open from 11-4. There's a swim up bar, but be aware you will pay a lot for a drink. For two drinks with tip, the price was $34!! 17
  • I got this hotel through priceline and requested an upgrade to an oceanview room when I checked in and got it for $50 a night. It was a nice price for an outstanding view. We got to see sunrise and sundown from our balcony. 18
  • It might have just been for the type of room, but I would still double-check that. We ended up staying at the Royal Sonesta in Isla Verde and absolutely loved it. It's a bit pricey, though. 14
  • The resort's dining options are satisfactory but pricey. 6
  • Prices for everything at the hotel were high, but not unexpectedly so. 9
  • There was plenty of seating (we arrived after lunch), and the resort is well-maintained. We paid $60 per adult, which does include that $20 food and beverage credit. So essentially, $40 each to spend a few hours at the resort. That is a pretty good value for access to the resort. 13
  • I will say, though, that eating and drinking there was VERY EXPENSIVE! We paid $15 + tip for an average and SMALL mojito at the lobby bar! Lunch at the outside restaurant was $80 + tip which included two small grilled chicken sandwiches, a beer, and one drink. 2
  • Overall a great place though frequently very expensive. 5
  • Resort fee at the St. Regis gets you a lot of stuff, not so much at the Marriot. 15
  • Dorado Beach is incredible, but with a price tag to match 21
  • Under staffed, poorly maintained, outdated and over crowded. We actually left early because of how bad the place was, we felt taken advantage of since the price was way out of line with the actual experience. 14
  • We paid 800 a night got a great upgrade but not worth that. Fine Marriott tho 21
  • We love this resort and the location. It's not terribly expensive to take a taxi to OSJ. As previously posted, there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, convenience and liquor stores right next to the Marriott. 17
Noise3 mentions
  • Trust me you won't disappointed. Just make sure your room is above the 7th floor (so you don't hear the live music at night) and ask for a pool/ocean corner room (they have two balconies). The new rooms are awesome! 7
  • It did have a pretty party-like vibe with the lobby being very loud and crowded in the evenings and music playing at night with flashing lights and stuff. As an older, cranky person that likes dead silence and darkness when sleeping, I probably wouldn't go back. 15
  • One elevator in the cabana tower was out of service which caused traffic jams of both guests and service staff with carts throughout the day. 9
Location9 mentions
  • Property has a prime location, walkable to Miramar, Ocean Park, direct beach access. 5
  • The surrounding area is a little more inviting. More good restaurants in walking distance. 17
  • San Juan Marriott Resort is located on Avenida Ashford, Condado's vibrant main thoroughfare. There are tons of shops, banks, restaurants, and pharmacies found within walking distance, as well as dining options ranging from local fare to international chains like Burger King. 6
  • location is perfectas it's walking distances to many restaurants and stores. 5
  • Besides being only about a 15 minute drive from the airport or the cruise line terminals, the hotel's location in the middle of the popular Ashford Avenue put you in a hub of some local establishments. 4
  • The street that the Marriott is located on leaves a bit to be desired when you consider that the Marriott is an upscale resort and casino, and the street does not match up to the quality level of the resort, not awful, but not great either, IMHO; 7
  • Both are in Condado which is a great location. 15
  • Located on Condado Beach, Marriott's resort and casino is conveniently close to all that San Juan has to offer. 12
  • LOCATION: PERFECT! You are only 1-2 blocks away from amazing restaurants and the Walgreens (to buy snacks/alcohol). 17
