The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

This downtown property puts visitors within walking distance of Broadway nightlife and the Gulch. Guests frequently highlight the impressive skyline views from floor-to-ceiling windows and solid dining options at Ella's. However, reviews frequently cite high street noise from the nightlife scene as well as hallway commotion from elevator traffic and party groups. Front desk interactions and billing inaccuracies also draw occasional complaints. 73139

What travelers noticed

  • Guests appreciate the walkable downtown setting close to Broadway Street and the Gulch dining options. 7
  • Rooms feature comfortable beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, copper accents, and bathrooms with spacious showers and robes. 135
  • Dining earns praise for dishes like housemade mozzarella sticks, Margherita pizza, fried meatballs, and breakfast at Ella's. 7

The catch

  • While some visitors find standard rooms small and minimally furnished, others highlight massive suites with wrap-around windows and spa-like marble bathrooms. drawn from the full read
  • Certain guests consider suite rates reasonable, whereas others feel room rates exceeding $500 are overpriced for a mid-range stay. drawn from the full read

Who it's for

  • Walkers wanting easy access to Broadway and the Gulch
  • Guests seeking downtown views from corner suites

Skip it if

  • Light sleepers sensitive to street and elevator noise
  • Budget travelers avoiding high downtown rates

  • Another detail that was impressive about the Nashville Hyatt Centric was the floor in the bathroom. Seriously. It's not a heated floor, at least there's no switch or control for that. But it had some type of texture that we both thought took the chill off. It also just had a nice, new look to it that tied in well with the design and color scheme of the room. 13
  • The bathroom featured a large glass shower with a high-pressure shower head, the same one I recently installed in my master bathroom at home. 7

  • The Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville has the absolute best location to enjoy all the fun that you can stand in Music City USA. 13
  • #1 My personal favorite is the Marriott Airport. It's an easy jaunt down the interstate to downtown or down Briley parkway to Opryland if you still want to check all that out without having to deal with it daily. It's up on a hill, set apart from traffic. The staff is wonderful. 9

  • Union Station is a more boutique style hotel in an old train station, but there is one hotel that is easily the nicest - The Hermitage. Classic style and luxury, immaculate service, extremely comfortable bed, and gorgeous architecture....these pale in comparison to the tv in the mirror in the bathroom. 9

  • But as far as bedding, everything in my room was fine as is. On camera65:36
  • the mini bar kind of was a drawer and they also had a mini fridge as well so plenty of room for snacks or delicious food that you might bring back from a restaurant while in town On camera142:02
  • plenty of room to spread out here nice pull out couch and a full door separating the living room from the bedroom so easy to share with friends or family On camera141:21
  • Popped up to a standard suite and they cleared us into this premium suite. It The views are just amazing. On camera10:28
  • On the blue wall next to the king bed, there's a simple, intuitive thermostat. We changed the temperature in the room a couple of times and the air conditioner worked well. 13
  • I really loved all the stylings it really had a good sense of place it really made me feel like I was in Nashville they had some cool art on the wall and as you can see they had one little Special Touch in the room that I think really brought it all together On camera50:40
  • Inside, the decor generic, but the color palette of yellows, beiges, and reds, plus wood accents, adds warmth. 12
  • the whole room you know had like nice little notes that really made you feel like you're in nashville we were really big fans of the design of the whole room On camera141:29
  • Another small detail that I appreciate, there are motion sensing lights under the bed. No more stumbling thru the dark when you get out of bed in the middle of the night. 13
  • I was glad to see an actual desk (which had a copper pull handle for the drawer). 13
  • I'm going to show you around the hotel a little bit, show you the room. It's a really nice room. On camera60:09
  • I like the standard room layout at HP, but I don't like HC. 8
  • While not as awesome as the minibar in the Park Hyatt NYC, this was one of my favorite Nashville themed details in the Hyatt Centric. 13
  • Look at the suite. I think this is a pull-out couch. If not, that's where I'm going to be sleeping anyways. We swing back around this way. What an awesome suite. On camera11:09
  • At 320 square feet, the room offered plenty of space for work and relaxation. It featured a plush king-size bed, a cozy seating area and table, a suitable writing desk, and a stylish wardrobe. 7
  • The swiveling 42-inch flat screen TV with media hub is watchable from the couch or the bed. 12
  • I've got to say, 320 sq ft is pretty small. Our last trip was to the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun where we spread out in the 1377 sq ft Oceanfront Master Suite. The difference in space was shocking. 13
  • so I got 1127 here this is a one-bedroom Sweden is absolutely gigantic this is one of the nicest Hiatt Centrics that I've stayed at I've stayed at quite a few across the United States in the world this is a very very stunning room On camera50:27
  • So, I think they call this room a mini suite, and it's really not suite-like at all, other than the fact that it has a sofa. On camera62:47
  • The Presidential Suite is a homerun for families or large groups. It offers luxury amenities like full-size hidden kitchen appliances, a large island and bar seating, a sectional sofa bed, and a handcrafted wooden ping-pong table. 7
  • I like the standard room layout at HP, but I don't like HC. Of course the quality and cleanliness can vary, but some HP are very nice. 8
Service15 mentions · 4 filmed
  • The newly built Hyatt house Vanderbilt is much nicer than the Hyatt Place. It's about a mile from city center and they provide free shuttle service to DT. 3
  • Agreed, be sure to request room away from elevators, lots of noise from bachelor/bachelorette parties but nice enough it's mostly couples/families 3
  • The bathroom also came well equipped with nice, clean, fluffy towels. On camera66:54
  • While I got the minimum "Thank you," this was the first time ever that hotel staff has failed to mention ANY benefits. 13
  • and then even the elevators had a nice little Nashville theme in here which I really loved so now we're going to check out the rest of the hotel On camera53:31
  • The workstation was a nice size. It was comfortable and well lit. Had plenty of outlets. Just what I'm looking for when I'm editing videos. On camera65:49
  • The hotel seemed packed to the gills but the rooms were nice, didn't have status at the time so can't comment on globalist perks. 11
  • You might like the AC for a bit more. It's Marriott's "Euro" brand and rooms are minimalist but nice, like a dark-colored IKEA 4
  • Interaction with hotel staff was a little disappointing but that was the only negative. 13
  • As far as security here in the hotel, no issues there either. There's always someone at the front desk as soon as you walk in. On camera64:49
  • The only things that took stars off my review were the lackluster front desk and the inconvenience of dealing with an incorrect $153 charge. 13
  • When we've checked in at 30+ other Hyatt's, the front desk experience has ranged from good to exceptional. It was just disappointing that the first time I had a bland experience was in my hometown, which is known for hospitality. 13
  • But the valet was fast, friendly and efficient. Our car was available 7 minutes after we texted that we were ready to pick it up. 13
  • As a smaller hotel compared to the Grand Hyatt, it offers more personalized service. 3

  • The Grand Hyatt is considered one of the nicest Hyatt properties in Nashville, with a great location that is walkable to main attractions. 3
  • #2 Opryland Hotel is a one of a kind hotel with beautiful grounds, and an interior atrium with amazing gardens. There is plenty of shopping and food within walking distance. 9
  • I also like Union Station, a few blocks away, which is an old train station converted into a hotel. It has lovely stain-glass throughout. 9
  • #1 My personal favorite is the Marriott Airport. It's an easy jaunt down the interstate to downtown or down Briley parkway to Opryland if you still want to check all that out without having to deal with it daily. It's up on a hill, set apart from traffic. The staff is wonderful. 9
  • Great location, walkable to everything and the rooms at Residence Inn are bigger than a Typical hotel. 4
  • I stayed at the Residence Inn a few months ago which is attached to the AC and Springhouse Suites I believe, all part of Marriott. Great location, walkable to everything and the rooms at Residence Inn are bigger than a Typical hotel. 4
  • All of these cars are going down to Broadway, and then that is the Hyatt Centric. It's right next to the Hyatt Place. You see kind of over there, that's the Joseph. But, very good location. Just a block. On camera13:10

  • Seksyon ng mga Comment [na-delete] • 3 taon ang nakalipas It's fine. We stayed there a few nights earlier this year and saw Billy Joel at Nissan Stadium and everything was in walking distance. 11
  • Hyatt Place downtown is well located. We liked it traveling as a couple. It is consistent quality-wise with others we have stayed at. 3
  • The hotel's prime location places you within easy reach of Nashville's cherished attractions, including the honky-tonk-lined Broadway Street, diverse shopping, dining, and a wealth of entertainment options. 7
  • Holston House would be the first choice Iba pang mga reply phillybilly • 7 taon ang nakalipas We stayed there in March. We stayed there in March. Good location and clean place. 3
  • I live in Nashville and have done staycations at the Hyatt Place downtown. Location is fantastic and award value was great, especially when it was 15k per night and I could credit card nights on it. 3
  • The hotel is beautiful and in a perfect location. Is it too much to ask that visitors to my hometown also get a little Southern hospitality at check-in? 13
  • For the hotel itself- the location was perfect for easy access to the bars on Broadway. 10
  • Again, the hotel was in kind of like an awkward situation where it's too close for an Uber, but the walk was like 15, 20 minutes. It's not bad, but if you're going to visit downtown a couple times during the day, it becomes monotonous. On camera68:31
  • Hyatt place airport is usually where I stay only 8k points. Always clean and nice and Uber is $10-15 max to downtown and will be there at hotel within a minute or 2 3
  • If you're looking for something downtown, I would say the Renaissance, due to its proximity to everything. 9
  • The Hyatt Centric is praised for its excellent location, being only a few minutes' walk from Broadway. 3
  • Location was fantastic and the food in Ella's was pretty good. 13

  • About a 20-minute drive away, downtown Nashville is a trek from the hotel, but a third-party shuttle service offers round-trip service for a fee. 12
  • Tourist level prices are also in effect at the lobby bar and restaurant, but the food & drinks are pretty good. 13
  • I loved staying at the Hyatt Place downtown a few months ago (before the points price jumped). Location is ideal for roaming around the night life parts. 3
  • At Hyatt Centric, it just feels like they hired a couple college guys in the dorm to decorate the place, with the nightstand being one step above an empty box and everything else being as cheap as possible except the price. 8
  • The only things that took stars off my review were the lackluster front desk and the inconvenience of dealing with an incorrect $153 charge. 13
  • Location is ideal for roaming around the night life parts. It's a simple enough mid range hotel, nothing fancy. I'm not sure I would pay its current Cat 5 price though. 3
  • Cant use SUA on these certs so HH was fine. This Hyatt place is topically overpriced compared to the newer Centric and Grand Hyatt. 8
  • Prices for hotels in downtown Nashville are expensive. The cheapest room at the Hyatt Centric for the night we stayed was $545 before taxes and fees. With taxes and fees, that bumped the price up to $630! 13
  • With tip, our bill for breakfast in Ella's restaurant came to $98.50. It was really good, and prices are high everywhere in downtown Nashville, but I'd skip it if you're not getting a free breakfast as a Hyatt Globalist. 13

  • The biggest savings I appreciated was the free breakfast at the restaurant Ella's. The food was actually quite good there and the service was great. 10
  • Holston House: Super cramped rooms, breakfast was okay. 3
  • I would go with the Place because they typically have breakfast included which will save you so much on the bottom line. 8
  • The fried meatballs, shrimp scampi, and fire-roasted carrots were equally delicious, as was the Margherita pizza, which I watched being tossed and prepared. It's hard to go wrong with a steak, so I opted for the New York Strip as my entree, which was perfectly prepared. 7
  • For my lone dinner at Ella's, I enjoyed an assortment of starters from the menu, including the best housemade mozzarella sticks I've ever had. 7
