Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center is a massive property built around vast indoor atriums and immediate access to the Grand Ole Opry. Guests praise the comfortable beds, dual-sink family bathrooms, and helpful staff across the sprawling grounds. However, rooms facing the interior atriums suffer from persistent noise from downstairs bars and restaurants, and pricey add-on fees leave many visitors feeling overcharged. 71912

What travelers noticed

  • The botanical conservatories and indoor atriums with millions of lights offer unique scenery and comfortable year-round temperatures. 17
  • Guest bathrooms are well-suited for families, particularly due to having a second sink outside the main bathroom area. 10418
  • Beds with plush mattress toppers and high-quality pillows provide a reliable and comfortable night of sleep. 188
  • The location provides seamless walking access directly to the Grand Ole Opry and the connected convention center. 81723

The catch

  • While some guests praise eateries like Cascades breakfast buffet and Solario Cantina, others argue the food is overpriced and inferior to dining downtown. 225
  • Indoor atrium balconies offer scenic views, but several guests warn that these rooms pick up heavy noise from restaurants and live music below. 223
  • Some guests find the location convenient for events on property, while others dislike how isolated it feels from the rest of the city without a rental car. drawn from the full read

  • They told us the next boat was departing in 15 minutes, so we went to find a restroom while we waited. We wandered into this convention center wing, and oh my goodness, this might be the most beautiful public bathroom I've ever seen in my life. Wow. It was pristine, luxury vibes all around. 71:19

  • we really enjoyed having a second sink outside of the main bathroom area and there was also plenty of closet space for both of us to hang our clothes for several days On camera102:07
  • The bathroom was generously- sized as well, with a shower. 2
  • The bathroom was also clearly designed with families in mind. It has two sinks and lavatories, as well as drawer space for all your stuff. 18
  • Our family stayed in the Magnolia section in a spacious room with two queen beds with a garden view. There was vanity and sink just outside of the bathroom, as well as one inside, which made getting ready in the morning and at bedtime much easier. 1
  • Best of all is the bright lighting over the bathroom mirrors - I don't know why so many hotels have low lighting in the spaces where a woman would want to put on makeup or do her hair. 18
  • Bathroom had plenty of pressure and hot water, though the tub was very old and narrow so the bottom is not really flat. 9
  • They told us the next boat was departing in 15 minutes, so we went to find a restroom while we waited. We wandered into this convention center wing, and oh my goodness, this might be the most beautiful public bathroom I've ever seen in my life. Wow. It was pristine, luxury vibes all around. On camera71:19
  • all right so next up we're gonna get into the bathroom as you guys can see there is nothing there but a sink but when you go over to the next room there's a second sink installed and there's the toilet and there's a shower it was pretty cool because you only got to do her makeup outside well I can take my sweet time getting ready in the bathroom On camera40:42

  • Of course you went to the car before to put away your luggage, or left it in the locker. It is also possible to spend a day or two at Gaylord Opryland without renting a room. That is what I did. Great deal. 20
  • Not a lot of fine dining in or around opryland. The hotel restaurants are pretty expensive for what you get. 21
  • A really great deal. And we got a great deal in this place, by the way. They have Tennessee resident discounts if you're a first responder, military, teacher. On camera1723:07
  • Guests do note that nearly everything within the resort is expensive, especially the restaurant fare. 13
  • Food and drink prices were very reasonable, and the chicken tenders that we ordered for lunch were outstanding. 1
  • Bottled water and Wi-Fi access are included in the daily resort fee, but some guests report the Wi-Fi to be spotty, depending on the room location. 23
  • The internet service was a highlight, fastest speed of any hotel I've been to recently and the resort fee allowed up to 5 devices to share one connection. That was great. 9
  • Gaylord Opryland Resort is way too expensive but if you can book in advance, it is one of the most beautiful hotel in the world. 3
  • Both are very expensive. There's much more fun downtown. 3
  • The hotel restaurants are pretty expensive for what you get. 21
  • although the view was beautiful and breathtaking we didn't feel like we needed to pay that extra fee only because we had so many activities planned for the day and the next day and the next day but you can't lie though the view is amazing On camera41:44
  • If you just want a one sentence review, the Gaylord is way overpriced for what it is. 9
Service17 mentions · 4 filmed
  • Opryland is kind of in a weird area when it comes to visiting. It's not super far from things, but you would definitely want to rent a car, especially if you have kids. 21
  • We had rented a car, and the ride from the airport to the resort was easy; we did get slightly turned around once in the complex with where to enter, park and valet; but once we found our bearings, the valet and check-in process was smooth. 2
  • The hotel functions on the TV were very good and the checkout function on the last day worked perfectly so I could just leave the hotel. 9
  • The concierge is particularly helpful with other Gaylord properties, such as the Ryman Auditorium, General Jackson, and the Grand Ole Opry, but can assist with tickets and information on other Nashville attractions. 19
  • The friendly staff is well-trained and efficient, keeping guests on track and extending genuine hospitality conducive to this southern locale. 26
  • My room attendant was very efficient, often having the room cleaned up by 9am. I love how they laid out my toiletries on a washcloth in the bathroom when I came back the first day. 9
  • Food service staff ranged from very attentive to could not care about you at all. I had the best service at the Cantina, worst service at the Bravo Gelato space. 9
  • Service is polite and accommodating, and the staff is well-trained, but Gaylord Opryland isn't a luxury resort, so don't expect the red-carpet treatment unless you are a V.I.P. or have Marriott Rewards status. 19
  • So Henry just noticed that there's also a refrigerator down here. Mini fridge. Nice and cool. It's got the area for the cans here. 17
  • The friendly staff is always willing to assist you, and there are maps throughout the resort to help you get around. 8
  • Over here we have little stand, work area, nice size TV telling us to enjoy our day. On camera1715:08
  • The valet staff is sizable and efficient in a hotel this size - Call for your car before you come down from your room and you shouldn't have to wait very long at all for your car to be pulled around to the entrance. 18
  • The friendliest staff was the horticulture staff in the mornings when I was on my walks. 9
  • Now, this is the concierge area and the check-in area for the hotel. Definitely a crazy amount of opulence. Like, look at that beautiful ceiling and all that stained glass. On camera164:13
  • and now you got to try a fry so they're seasoned there's like some kind of spice nice and crispy crunch On camera2521:24
  • they brought our luggage up for us which was really nice normally we do these room tours with the luggage not in the room but you know that was very nice of them to bring our luggage up On camera255:18
  • Beyond the natural beauty in the atriums however, the resort is very VERY dated. Has the feel of a retirement home instead of a nice resort. Carpets, general look and feel, it's not even retro, just old and tired. 9
Noise5 mentions · 2 filmed
  • Some rooms offer lovely atrium views but are exposed to the noise created in the interior spaces. 23
  • The small balcony from our guestroom afforded a beautiful view, but (a word of warning) with the bar and restaurant in that atrium - and live music at the bar some nights - it can be a bit loud in the guestroom. 2
  • we have a porch where we can sit outside and experience the atrium from our own porch oh wow you can hear the waterfall out there and there it is over there you can see all throughout here this is so awesome On camera252:37
  • From what I could tell, the Delta is the noisiest of the atriums so if you like quieter and you want a balcony room, you might want to request the Garden rooms on the opposite side from the restaurants. 9
  • sound waves paisano's reminded me of sabaro the pizza is already cooked and ready to go and you can purchase it by the slice not a lot of selection but with pizza doesn't really need to be very similar to chutney cheese pizza actually so if you're not a big chunky cheese pizza fan you probably won't like this but i like their pepperoni On camera2519:24
Food23 mentions · 7 filmed
  • It is always decorated beautifully. There are some great restaurants and a few bars. 21
  • so now we got the buffet we've got a waterfall over here coolest restaurant ever i think they might have grass-fed butter On camera2539:16
  • over here you have some grits and if you don't know what grits are they're a southern kind of ground up corn meal type thing very good they're better than they smell 25
  • almost two cascades for a buffet breakfast this is a great view from the restaurant so we're heading over to the buffet portion 25
  • On the food side, it's really not worth it. They're trying to be high end and trendy with some of the newer restaurants but the quality is not there. 9
  • Reservations are required. We've also enjoyed our meals at Findley's Irish Pub, and we like to get burgers to go from Stax and have them at the seating area next to the fountains when we watch the fountain show at night. 18
  • The resort has an extraordinary number of restaurants under its glass roof, ranging from casual pizza and burgers to the Old Hickory Steakhouse which grows some of its herbs inside the atrium. 19
  • delicious American fare on the menu includes soups salads sandwiches Steak Burgers and fish I enjoyed some cheddar biscuits and delicious pan seared salmon I have to say I think it was my favorite meal of my entire stay On camera105:17
  • Seemingly endless choices of restaurants and bars 23
  • The Gaylord is home to 17 restaurants and food venues, ranging from quick-grab counters to fine dining; in-room dining also is available. We really enjoyed the traditional southern fare at the casual Jack Daniel's Saloon. 1
  • first Solario Cantina delicious flavors of Mexico available most days for lunch and dinner in a patio atmosphere I sat down with some fried Baja Cod and enjoyed the beautiful garden with my Tasty Tacos On camera107:13
  • My entire family agrees Cascades serves one of the absolute best burgers in Nashville, and in a town that's become known for great food, that's saying something! 18
  • try one of these appetizers let's see i want to see your opinion see the flavor just pops it's so good it's like flavor just pops up in your mouth 25
  • Because Gaylord is a resort, breakfast is not included in the context of a non-package rental. No matter what your Marriott status is. This will be compensated with points or an allowance of a few dollars, but well below the value of the expense for a breakfast. 20
  • during our visit many of the restaurants at the resort were either completely closed or open with limited capacity seating the wait was long and our little ones were really hungry so we tried to order room service and was told that it would be almost a 2hour wait On camera246:30
  • here is the cascades restaurant which we are planning to go to breakfast tomorrow here i was not really into the food for lunch and dinner but breakfast sounds amazing On camera2510:34
  • The hotel is nice and they are good restaurants inside it, but there are obviously way better restaurants in other parts of town. 21
  • and these are the appetizers restaurant ranch amazing they look good we're getting the really the really happy face from rosie so they're that good On camera2532:45
  • There's a variety of quick-service and sit-down eateries. Of the many on offer, we tried Cascades American Cafe, with an ample breakfast buffet; Fuse Sports Bar; and Solario Cantina for delicious Mexican. 2
  • Food and drink prices were very reasonable, and the chicken tenders that we ordered for lunch were outstanding. 1
  • We did not eat there except for one breakfast, because all the restaurants had mediocre reviews. It's a bit of a haul into town though, we were ubering back and forth a lot. 15
  • in addition to your hotel reservation information the app gives you lots of good details such as their dining options with hours and menus and entertainment schedule for the dates that you are there as well as the convenience of being able to book reservations at restaurants the spa and even some entertainment options On camera101:06
  • Delta Marketplace is the perfect spot to grab a bite to bring with you while you sightsee or to bring back to your room. You'll find soups, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and coffee. 8
Room14 mentions · 7 filmed
  • The hotel provided a crib in the room, although our daughter seemed to prefer the comfortable king-sized bed, which was flanked by two nightstands. 2
  • Make sure to get a room with an indoor balcony. It is so nice to sit out there and see the atrium area. 21
  • The best thing about our guestroom was the size! The spacious accommodation opened into a small threshold with a little alcove to the left that boasted a single sink and mirror on one side and a closet opposite. 2
  • overall the room is clean and spacious just what we needed On camera40:34
  • The only thing that I would complain about about the room itself was it could use a little more lighting, but if that's the only thing you're going, you know, that was not as great. On camera1721:42
  • The hotel rooms are pretty standard, nothing special about them. I had room G5051 with double beds and a view of the convention center roof. 9
  • coming into the main room we were in a room with two queen-size beds there was plenty of room to maneuver around the beds and of course our desk space got lots of use On camera102:26
  • look at this room it's huge humongous very spacious On camera252:08
  • Standard rooms are clean, spacious (350 square feet), and come in one king or two-queen bed options. 23
  • the check-in process was quick and easy once we got up to the desk here they gave us our room key and four sound waves bands per room On camera240:42
  • KidTripster Tip: Because of the resort's size, bring along a stroller for young children. Our family stayed in the Magnolia section in a spacious room with two queen beds with a garden view. 1
  • Standard rooms at the Gaylord have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Choose from guest rooms with 1 or 2 queen beds, 1 king, or, if you need more space, one of their suites, which has a separate sleeping area, a sofa bed, as well as more space for any work you might need to get done while on the road. 8
