The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Built in 1994, this quieter villa property delivers clean, large rooms with ocean-view balconies and multiple infinity pools. Guests regularly highlight the friendly service, relaxing spa treatments, and uncrowded poolside seating. However, the east-facing orientation leaves the beach and pools shaded in the afternoon, and its isolated corridor location requires a car to venture out. 710

What travelers noticed

  • Spacious bathrooms come well equipped with rainfall showerheads, generous countertop space, and dual sinks. 76
  • Staff welcome guests with hot towels at check-in and provide attentive service across the property. 7
  • Balconies deliver broad ocean views, with select units featuring private outdoor hot tubs. 108
  • On-site dining options range from casual wraps at La Cantina to gourmet dishes like octopus carpaccio at El Ciruelo. 11

The catch

  • While many diners praise meals at El Ciruelo and the sports bar, others find the on-site food disappointing and overpriced for room service. 13
  • Some travelers enjoy the calm, secluded bubble, whereas others dislike that a car or rideshare is required to reach outside activities. 7

Who it's for

  • Guests seeking spacious multi-sink bathrooms

Skip it if

  • Afternoon sunbathers at the pool
  • Walkable access to town activities
  • Guests sensitive to windowless secondary bedrooms

  • I chose the beachfront restaurant, Coralline. It was gloriously peaceful, shaded, with the sound of pounding waves. 5
  • Breakfast buffet is served at Cocina Casera, also overlooking the ocean. The breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant has themed buffets every night. 5

Location

  • It's me (dad) and 2 kids (19 and 21). We stayed at the Los Cabos location last year. It was perfectly fine and nice. But in a secluded bubble, which is completely OK with me since I didn't want the kids wandering off in to potential trouble. 13

  • It was gloriously peaceful, shaded, with the sound of pounding waves. They had excellent french fries! You don't get french fries on a dive boat, and I was feeling deprived, so it was the first thing I ordered! Yum! 5

Service7 mentions
  • While it wasn't modern, it was well maintained and clean. Our bellman escorted us over to the check in desks where our ID's were checked and we were given hot towels. This was a much appreciated touch after traveling. 7
  • Bathrooms are nice across the board, with rainfall showerheads in all units and some including bathtubs as well. 6
  • Past reception is a large seating area and a row of Concierge desks. We didn't have much of a reason to utilize their services though it is a nice perk for visitors looking to book tours. 7
  • Previous visitors also praised the gracious staff and impressive views overlooking the ocean. 10
  • The Westin Los Cabos units are in the semi-circular building on the resort map towards the top. All of those units have ocean views and are nice. 8
  • The interior designer and her team selected elegant tiles and contemporary neutral tones to compliment local art with pops of typical Mexican color. 14
  • The lobby is open air with gorgeous stonework, and the staff could not be any friendlier or helpful! Every single staff member treated me like a queen. 5
Room10 mentions
  • The major downside to this hotel is the east facing view which means you don't get any afternoon sun on the beach and pools. Our room had plenty of space for four adults to spread out without bothering one another and a useable kitchen that allowed us to prepare meals when we wanted to eat in. 7
  • Villas have hot tubs on the corner of the balcony with breathtaking views. 12
  • Overall, the suite worked great for four adults visiting for a long weekend. 7
  • I did like the Mexican punch offered in the relaxation room after my treatment, in addition to nuts and dried fruits. 14
  • Most rooms are done in attractive modern decor, though Baja Point villas are more classic 6
  • At the rear of the room was the sitting area. A small couch and table were positioned against the wall. Two, somewhat uncomfortable, chairs were positioned around a small center ottoman. 7
  • One of my favorite things about this hotel is the fact that all rooms face outwards towards the beach. Each room features a balcony which has a cafe table and two chairs. This was a great place to have coffee each morning. 7
  • I never wanted to leave the balcony which overlooked the pools and the ocean. 5
  • The only issue was the fact that there is no light in the secondary bedroom. With no exterior windows, I had a hard time determining if it was 3:00 AM or PM. 7
  • Expect bright colors and details like Oaxacan embroidered textiles adding some local flavor to the decor. We love upmarket touches like wooden ceiling fans and contemporary bedside lamps, while amenities are all essentially brand new. 6
Location1 mention
  • It's me (dad) and 2 kids (19 and 21). We stayed at the Los Cabos location last year. It was perfectly fine and nice. But in a secluded bubble, which is completely OK with me since I didn't want the kids wandering off in to potential trouble. 13

Food8 mentions
  • In terms of dining, you'll have your pick of four restaurants, all of which receive rave reviews from diners. 10
  • But the on-site food was very disappointing, and the spa was pretty good. 13
  • Lunch takes place at Coraline, or either the pool bar or sports bar. There's also fine dining on offer at Ciruelo, where seven-course dinners and stunning coastal views are the name of the game. 6
  • I chose the beachfront restaurant, Coralline. It was gloriously peaceful, shaded, with the sound of pounding waves. 5
  • At El Ciruelo, Baja Point's hilltop dining room, we enjoyed a gourmet dinner of octopus carpaccio, lamb chops with mango sauce, seafood pasta and raspberry sorbet. 11
  • I ordered the burger which was very good. The rest of our group also enjoyed their meals. 7
  • We lingered over the breakfast buffet at Cocina Casera, centrally located by the guestroom buildings, and grew addicted to the ceviche verde at the poolside Coralline cafe. 11
  • Breakfast buffet is served at Cocina Casera, also overlooking the ocean. The breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant has themed buffets every night. 5

  • Thanks to the terraced nature of the hotel, you get a great view of the area as you enter. 7
  • The major downside to this hotel is the east facing view which means you don't get any afternoon sun on the beach and pools. 7
