The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

The Juniper Hotel is an independently owned mid-range retreat located just across the highway on the edge of the Banff townsite. Guests love the scenic valley views from the hot tub and the standout dining at the Juniper Bistro. However, some guests report noticeable noise between floors and high prices at the restaurant. 51419

Every line below traces back to something a traveler actually wrote — open a line to read the original sentence and follow it to the source.

What travelers noticed

  • Guests consistently praise the panoramic views overlooking pine forests, Tunnel Mountain, and Mount Rundle. 514
  • The on-site Juniper Bistro earns acclaim for its shared family-style menu featuring trout, bison short rib, and squash ravioli. 612
  • Rooms receive compliments for their mid-century modern aesthetic, featuring antique hardwood floors and finished pine decor. 5
  • Staff are noted for being accommodating with outdoor gear, readily welcoming bikes and backpacks. 1

The catch

  • While many diners consider the Juniper Bistro's meals well worth the cost, others feel the high prices offer little that is truly special. 12
  • Some travelers appreciate the quiet setting on the edge of the valley, while others find being across the highway from downtown less convenient. drawn from the full read

  • Travelers prioritizing mountain views over downtown crowds
  • Diners interested in locally inspired bistro meals

  • If you're looking for good value in your Banff hotel, it's definitely there at the Juniper Hotel. Prices are very reasonable for the Banff area and there are lots of extra little touches that make it a unique stay. 10
  • We were even able to sit next to the fireplace 🔥 A reservation is recommended but not necessary. It's a higher price than casual dining but very much worth it. 6
