Read it your way

Novotel Paris Les Halles is a modern, centrally situated hotel directly connected to Paris transit and major sights. Guests praise the comfortable beds, welcoming reception staff, and sleek bathrooms with rainfall showers. However, street activity, area construction, and subway vibrations can disrupt sleep in lower or street-facing rooms. 7161524

  • The breakfast buffet offers a generous spread of hot and cold options along with fresh orange juice. 71513

The catch

  • While some guests praise the soundproofing for delivering a peaceful sleep, others report noticeable noise from traffic, early morning subway lines, and area construction. 184

  • Loyal Novotel clients might notice that the Les Halles outpost is a bit nicer than the chain's average property, and prices reflect this. It's tough to beat the Novotel's location in the 1st Arrondissement. 15
  • Stayed at the Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opera across the street from the Intercontinental and Kimpton (is this in your price range) and really enjoyed the area. Very walkable to the museums, Galleries Lafayette, and Printemps, and the street wasn't crazy busy or noisy. 18

  • Hotel was small, but clean, breakfast included. 23
  • Breakfast is served buffet-style for an additional charge, and the spread includes a great assortment of hot and cold items. 15
  • The restaurant is located in a beautiful atrium that overlooks Les Halles. 15
  • The area is not the most interesting for tourists but there are some restaurants if you walk 10 minutes toward rue Vaugirard, that are absolutely genuine non tourists traps. 14
  • I stayed in Novotel Les Halles about 3 years ago. It it a modern hotel, with a good breakfast and a very central location. 11
  • Free coffee in the lobby. Unlimited free coffee is a big perk, especially when you're jet-lagged or just need that caffeine boost before a day of exploring. On camera163:37
  • We stayed at the Novotel in Les Halles in May. Very clean and good hotel, breakfast was a bit of a queue when you left it late but they re-stock the food, it was just waiting to get a table. 1

  • Air con has always been good. This time I was on my own so decided to just get a hotel room. I've stayed in apartments all over Europe. Never had an issue with a room being so hot and airless! 2

  • Consider Maison Albar-Le Diamond near Gare Saint Lazare. The Executive suite has a king bed and a sofa bed. It's a busy area but the double glazing on the windows is very effective at keeping the noise out. 18
  • I've never had a four star hotel not provide air con or have the ability to open a window to catch a breeze or allow fresh air. This hotel has air con. They just decide in September to turn it off. I can only guess to save money. I don't actually need air con, I just need the air to circulate! 2
  • The Intercontinental Le Grand is lovely - a very elegant hotel with great service. The rooms are a good size for a Parisian hotel and you can select the size room which suits you (just be aware that Parisian hotel rooms tend to be a lot smaller than American hotel rooms). 18
  • When i asked the front desk to send someone up to check the air con they said at this time of the year they don't run air con. They offered a fan, but now none are available. 2

  • Have you checked the Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel ?? It is situated near the Opera but not as near the Intercontinental so in a less busy location. 18
  • Parisiens think the 15th is boring. I used to walk by that hotel every day and I like the location. There's a small shopping mall beside it that is really handy and you are close to a metro station (also one of the entry points they had for Seine swimming last year). • Novotel Gare de Lyon is a perfectly good hotel. I've stayed there myself once a few years back due to its location while on a business trip. Honestly, Marais is overrated and over touristed. You'll have a much more authentic Parisian experience and with Gare de Lyon nearby plenty of transit options. 14

  • We just got back from Paris, 6th trip, and stayed in the Hotel Relais de Halles......brand new area for us and neighborhood. We enjoyed being so close to so much going on....and our 5th floor room window opened up on the street but our sound machines at night kept the noise out.
