The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Marriott Dallas Uptown provides a stylish base within easy reach of McKinney Avenue and the Katy Trail. Modern rooms feature comfortable king beds, roomy layouts, and marble bathroom counters with Thisworks toiletries. However, soundproofing between rooms is notably limited, and guests frequently experience slow front desk service and cleanliness oversights. 1029

  • it is like a miniart which is convenient for the guest staying here and not having to go outside of the hotel to find smaller items that they need however the downside is that the price of things can be steep given that it is a hotel 31:10
  • I wouldn't be too harsh on the review if access to the M Club were free. However, keep in mind that if you are not high up on the Marriott status ladder, you need to shell out $40 per visit, which is severely overpriced for a plate of cold, microwavable breakfast food. 2

Bathroom5 mentions · 1 filmed
  • The bathroom had a single sink vanity with a beautiful marble countertop, which was made of the same material as the work desk in the bedroom. 2
  • The shower came with a handheld version, and while it was bright, it wasn't as clean as I had hoped for. 2
  • The bathroom was also spacious and it contained all the amenities that one will need during their stay On camera36:31
  • e a crumb-infested nightstand, sticky remote and half a piece of glass instead of a shower door, I remind myself that private equity has pretty much ruined just about everything 11
  • good bathroom lighting - this may seem silly, but hotel bathrooms sometimes have such dim lighting. I loved how bright their bathroom lights were! 10
Service6 mentions · 1 filmed
  • This last time we stayed we had a terrible experience because of the GM, Mr. Tawil. We brought our two service dogs that my daughter needs for her condition just like we did the first time and somehow the front desk person forgot to mark them as service dogs. Even after I showed Mr. Tawil the dogs service tags he would not refund me. 9
  • the staff is very accommodating - right from the onset the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. We could tell they go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. 10
  • speaking of the check-in the checking process was smooth and seamless the front desk Personnel were friendly and accommodating On camera30:52
  • The process was slow and they had a line that just didn't move. Also I took note that the staff didn't have a smile or a friendly word. Kind or weird, I usually find hotel staff to be friendly. 11
  • The staff wore masks, but still managed to convey a warm greeting. 6
  • I usually like Marriott but the service keeps on sliding, especially in the downtown Dallas hotel I'm at right now. 11
Food8 mentions · 1 filmed
  • The renaissance on stemmons is ok but lacks a lot of food options. 11
  • we made sure to enjoy every morning the breakfast offered here in addition to the evening canopy they had a lot of breakfast items for American breakfast type On camera33:10
  • Was this the Sheraton or the Marriott? The Sheraton has better food. The Marriott is ok but much more limited. 11
  • Chef Juan Pablo Silva, who honed his culinary skills at The Ritz-Carlton, created the elevated comfort food menu. We highly recommend a bowl of the rigatoni with a glass of red wine. 6
  • quality restaurant on site - Good Graces is a well-reviewed restaurant and it's right in their lobby. The service was wonderful and the food was great! 10
  • I fully assumed that the food would be warm at least, but to my utter disappointment, every single item on my plate was either cold or lukewarm. 2
  • Go down to the restaurant. Speed is pretty slow here and definitely without a smile but I'm getting food at least. 11
  • The room service menu is very similar to the Good Graces bar menu, and we found the food delicious! 10
Room13 mentions · 3 filmed
  • The lobby and bedroom were designed beautifully. Though Marriott probably restricted certain design rules, the hotel harmoniously used various materials in both settings. 2
  • In general, I was impressed with the interior design and curation of exciting pieces of furniture. The lobby utilized various contrasting materials such as leather, wood, marble, and glass in a harmonious way-a stylish representation that I hadn't encountered at other Marriott hotels. 2
  • The work desk was too narrow for remote working, and the couch was gorgeous yet exceptionally uncomfortable. 2
  • The work desk had an attractive white quartz top, but it was too narrow for my taste. 2
  • The windows were not genuine floor-to-ceiling windows due to their thick frames, but they were big enough to let plenty of sunlight into the room. 2
  • The suite contained a seating ERA with a couch that can be turned into a bed which came handy given that we were traveling with the kids the space was large enough and even contain a dining table On camera35:04
  • The contemporary decor, filled with bookcases, creates intimate spots for working on a laptop or chatting with friends. 6
  • on the other side it was a bedroom this room was huge the king bed was really nice and comfortable which allowed us to get plenty of rest On camera35:32
  • Across from the bed were a wall-mounted smart TV and a work desk. The smart TV functioned without any streaming issues, and I was able to catch up on some Netflix shows before going to sleep. 2
  • Then I found a mini-fridge tucked away in a closet, but it was dirty inside, with sticky brown liquid dripping from the back. 2
  • The bedroom was roomier than I thought, and I liked that the floor wasn't carpeted except for the bedsides. 2
  • If in Dallas, the Aloft is amazing. Get a room ending in 11. Coolest Marriott rooms around. 9
  • now one area that I would like to see is the hotel modernizing the decoration it screams early to mid 2000s other than that it was really nice room On camera36:10
