The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

This Springdale hotel serves as a convenient launchpad five minutes from the entrance of Zion National Park. Guests appreciate the tastefully decorated, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and scenic backdrop of the cliffs. However, soundproofing is a consistent drawback, with thin walls and poor floor insulation allowing footstep and hallway noise to carry into rooms. 6782

What travelers noticed

  • Guests report that rooms are clean and well appointed with strong air conditioning units and fast, free Wi-Fi. 7
  • The property grounds consistently impress with direct, scenic views of the surrounding cliffs. 2

The catch

  • Morning food receives mixed reactions, ranging from guests who enjoyed chocolate chips and walnuts at the buffet to those who found packaged bags wasteful and unappealing. 7
  • Reviews of the front desk diverge between those who found the check-in staff fantastic and helpful and those who ran into billing errors. 27

  • Travelers prioritizing clean rooms and scenic cliff views
  • Families needing comfortable beds and a pool

Skip it if

  • Light sleepers sensitive to overhead footsteps
  • Guests expecting soundproof walls

  • The room was great - it was spacious, and I appreciated how interesting the design was. Usually Hyatt Place is my favorite limited service brand, but the rooms are so bland, with off-white walls that have barely any decorations. By comparison I loved the amount of color in the room. 7

  • i stayed at that HIX a few times - they have a nice hot tub and smallish pool with awesome views in the back; they also have family suites with 3 (iirc) beds and frond desk was always very helpful and friendly; but it is also an older irregularly shaped property so some rooms are definitely less desirable 8
  • And another great thing is when we did check in the staff were fantastic. You know it was excellent. They were, you know, very receptive to anything we had wanted. And again, we checked in late and again the the woman who was checking us in was absolutely just very pleasant. 2

  • Cliffrose at $250/night is an absolutely fantastic deal IMO. 8
  • While not cheap for a limited service hotel, the town is able to command price premiums given the proximity to Zion National Park. 7

  • The chocolate chips and walnuts at the breakfast buffet was a treat! 7
  • @ Anthony -- Fair point, I changed it to "not great," which is probably more fair. More than anything the breakfast just seemed wasteful. They give you a bag and don't tell you what the contents are. For example, I don't eat pork, so I didn't have the breakfast sandwich, and I hate wasting food, in particular meat. 7
  • The breakfast was not great, in my opinion, but I also totally recognize the challenges hotel face, and how quickly they've had to adapt. 7
  • The breakfast was great. Every morning you could grab eggs, sausages, toast, bagels, and waffles. On camera24:52
  • airfield. You got lucky with your breakfast, I stayed at the Springhill Glen Allen, VA and all I got was a pre packaged muffin. They even took the coffee down as soon as the clock struck 9. 7
  • All of them are better than Fairfield. You got lucky with your breakfast, I stayed at the Springhill Glen Allen, VA and all I got was a pre packaged muffin. They even took the coffee down as soon as the clock struck 9. 7
  • I've probably stayed in 20 of them, none of which were memorable. It also made me LOL that they blamed their breakfast cost cutting on "supply chain." Creative. Not valid, but creative 7
  • Under pre-COVID circumstances, I found the breakfast to be a step up from Fairfield and two steps up from Towne Place Suites and free-unlike Courtyard. 7

  • The location was great, the rooms were tastefully decorated (as far as limited service properties go), and the hotel had a nice lobby, pool, and gym, along with friendly staff. 7
  • I stayed at the Springhill Glen Allen, VA and all I got was a pre packaged muffin. They even took the coffee down as soon as the clock struck 9. They also managed to screw up my billing and had what looked like high schoolers working the front desk. 7
  • And again, very nice decorations. It's very nice, very clean. We were very happy with it. On camera28:03
  • Apart from some food and beverage provision, there's nothing limited about it. This place clearly has a strong offering for the price charged, and as you never use 90% of the facilities at the places you stay anyway, it being limited service is kind of irrelevant. 7
  • The check-in process was quick, and the front desk associate was friendly. 7
  • The staff were great and professional. 6
  • And another great thing is when we did check in the staff were fantastic. You know it was excellent. They were, you know, very receptive to anything we had wanted. And again, we checked in late and again the the woman who was checking us in was absolutely just very pleasant. 2

  • I'd recommend the Holiday Inn next door, similar views and I had super friendly and helpful staff on my last stay. 7

  • My wife and I plus our dogs stayed at the springhill suites at zion. We had an executive suite on the bottom floor which was spacious. 7
  • The room was clean, modern, and had a lot of space to put your luggage. 6
  • BTW, this is the layout and decoration at most new/renovated SpringHill Suites across the US. The West Elm sofa bed is really nice for families. Not those terrible and uncomfortable sofa beds you find everywhere. 7
  • And then you have a closet down there. But again, very comfortable. The beds are great. 2
  • So again, you have a nice desk here with all the outlets you can need. On camera26:41
  • Springhill is generally my favorite "limited service brand". I love having a sofa, so two people can sit comfortably--instead of fighting over the one chair. 7

  • Certainly one of the nicer options in Springdale, though the room layout was a little unusual. 7
  • The rooms are just slightly higher quality and always very consistent since every Springhill room I have stayed in had been the exact same as the one you stayed in. 7
  • But again, it's great. We love the room. Tons of lighting, tons of outlets by the bed. On camera29:02
  • Wifi in the room was fast and free. 7

  • The only place worth staying at near Zion NP is the Zion Lodge INSIDE Zion NP. Bookings have to be made way in advance, and it's quite basic and expensive, but you're staying in the park... 7

  • First off there seem to be very little insulation between floors, it sounded like we had a dance company upstairs causing the dogs to bark. 7
  • My only complaint would be the walls are super thin. You can hear the hallways and the people staying in the rooms on either side. I also had rooms above me and I could occasionally hear footsteps and loud thumping (assuming kids jumping around maybe?). 6
