The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle Downtown provides clean, spacious suites equipped with separate bedrooms and proper living areas. Guests regularly highlight comfortable beds with quality sheets, strong shower water pressure, and a generous breakfast. However, elevator delays are a persistent hassle with only one car functioning at times, and understaffed front-desk shifts can cause long waits at check-in. 410614

  • The hotel is now my default when staying in Seattle given its proximity to the Seattle Center and all its attractions just across the street! . 10
  • Consider the other Homewood on Pike - while I wouldn't recommend walking back up the hill unless you want to burn plenty of calories, it's a pleasant stroll downhill to Pike Place and there are many restos & pubs within a few blocks further up Pike, with the bonus of a downhill walk home when you've eaten! There's enough of a height difference that the noise from I5 isn't very noticeable at all. 19

  • Ive stayed there and really enjoyed it, the breakfast is great and most importantly you can't beat the view 14
  • Great breakfast, the room was clean and spacious. 6
  • Embassy Suites: on the list because of their rave reviews on Tripadvisor, it looks like a nicer property for an ES, and the usual family fallback position of having more space/seperate living room area. Always nice to know everyone's breakfast is free. 17
  • Motif has OK, restaurant was so so, like term46 said, and you get a free drink coupon as Diamond. 14
  • You can also opt for oatmeal, fruit, donuts, and a variety of bread. There is also yogurt and fruit compote for that as well. Plenty of options, and overall a nice spread for a free breakfast. 10
  • My wife had halibut tacos and a caesar salad. She rated them a 4 out of 5. So, serviceable food but nothing outstanding. 14
  • Kitchenettes sit in spacious rooms alongside 24-hour coffee stations. 7
  • I had a great experience using a FNC minus the breakfast being so-so 14

  • I stayed at the motif in downtown. It was a nice clean room. 14
  • Suite had a proper living area with a sofa bed plus a separate bedroom for the family. 4
  • Beyond the partition containing the television is the bedroom area. The room is technically a studio suite, but the layout makes it feel a little more broken up that a single room, which is nice. 10
  • The room was large and fairly well updated. 14

  • There was a 1-2 hr wait for our room after checking in the first evening, which seemed related to them being understaffed and confused (maybe a shift changed had just started?). 6
  • Hotel was very nice - room was massively oversized, fast wifi, and a shuttle bus to the pier was only $5pp. 19

  • Stayed at the Hilton downtown last week. Solid. Very clean room. Executive lounge for coffee and water. 14
  • Great breakfast, the room was clean and spacious. 6
  • I stayed there earlier this year and can confirm it's a great choice. Room was nice, walkable to almost everything (I'd take public transit or taxi/Uber to the stadiums). 14
  • Does anyone have any comments on ... Homewood Suites by Hilton / Downtown? Other than what I already mentioned above, I'll add that the room was ridiculously large and there was a cheap shuttle bus to the pier available ($5pp, but that was several years ago). 8
  • Look at Seattle Center hotels - Mediterranean Inn (on Queen Anne, many restos, great roof deck), Hotel 5 (in-between center & downtown core; part of the Pineapple chain, very loud decor but good beds) 8
  • Each suite is generously sized and fully equipped with all the essentials you need to settle in and stay productive or relax in style. 15

  • The Sound hotel is the sleeper hit here! Lovely room great service nice restaurant! Strongly recommend 14
  • A little north of where Pikes Place is, but it is on the nice water-side greenway that goes straight into the tourist areas. 14
  • They also let us check in at noon which was much appreciated after a 3 day train ride from Chicago. We also found the breakfast amazing and the staff engaging. 10
  • Hilton Seattle is decent. Rooms were clean and friendly staff. 14

  • Hyatt House was not helpful trying to get a taxi. 6
  • We have stayed twice over the years at the Homewood Suites on Western Avenue. A little north of where Pikes Place is, but it is on the nice water-side greenway that goes straight into the tourist areas. A little cheaper and still easily accessible to all the sights. 14
  • Breakfast at the Hyatt House Seattle Downtown was busy, but things run smoothly and staff are attentive. 10

  • We also got upgraded to a suite with a view of the Needle-very nice. They also let us check in at noon which was much appreciated after a 3 day train ride from Chicago. 10
  • The wait was less than 10 minutes for a fresh omelet, and staff even brought it to our table. This was service I didn't expect, as I have always gone back to the window to get it when ready. 10
  • We know that travels can be hectic, which is why we offer a convenient check-out time of 12:00 p.m., allowing you to enjoy a leisurely morning before you head out. 15
  • Homewood is directly across from the Elliott Bay trail accessed by a pedestrian bridge which is really nice for strolls along the waterfront trail and then down to the aquarium. 12
Location17 mentions
  • I could have used Hilton or IHG points, but considering that the Hyatt House has a great location and excellent value, and that I am trying to attain Globalist status this year, the Hyatt House Seattle Downtown made the most sense for us. 10
  • Charter/Curio: leading my list right now. I like boutique-y properties, especially after what feels like years of mostly mid tier stays because of the kids. The location seems good as well. 17
  • Located nearly a 5-minute walk from Argyle Street, the modern Homewood Suites By Hilton Halifax - Downtown hotel gives easy access to various tourist attractions. 18
  • IMHO, unless you have your heart set on being in the downtown core, I actually think that this is a perfect location to be based out of for what you are wanting to see here. 19
  • The location is amazing, and the hotel is one of the best in the brand that I have stayed at. 10
  • Airport website here. We just stayed at the brand new Hyatt Regency downtown. Very nice hotel and rooms. 8
  • Room was nice, walkable to almost everything (I'd take public transit or taxi/Uber to the stadiums). 14
  • There are many, many threads here recommending hotels, but they also commonly report Seattle is not cheap downtown, particularly in summer season. We have stayed at the Hilton Downtown a couple of times. Pretty good location, walking distance to most sites. 8
  • Also to add, it was only a few blocks from pikes market, which was a big reason I chose it. I spent the weekend in Seattle with no car and was able to do quite a lot with the tram and stuff within walking distance. 14
  • However w want to eat yummy foods at night so need to be in safe area for night walking. It's safe enough but not the most convenient location - quite a hike from places like the Pike Place market, closer to Seattle Center, but an uphill walk. 19
  • But since then we've stuck to Seattle center or downtown proper for hotels, as we like to walk around and it was a hassle to get to anywhere - only Pro was convenient access to a nearby wine store. 19
  • Featuring a hot tub, spa therapy, and a shared lounge, the 3-star Homewood Suites- Denver Downtown Convention Center hotel enjoys a perfect setting 6 minutes' walk from the Denver Firefighters Museum. 18
  • Hyatt House was not helpful trying to get a taxi. Our other family stayed at Homewood Suites on the other side of the Space Needle/Green and I liked their location better since it was closer to the places we all wanted to eat. 6
  • I stayed there earlier this year and can confirm it's a great choice. Room was nice, walkable to almost everything (I'd take public transit or taxi/Uber to the stadiums). 14
  • Almost 10 years ago we stayed at Hyatt PLACE Seattle Downtown. It was a very nice hotel with two beds, a couch and a decent amount of space. The location was walkable to food. 6
  • The hotel was a 5 min walk to the station, with good food options around. 14
  • Embassy Suites is the nicest of the three. It's in Pioneer Square which has an increased homeless presence in the area and about 1 mile walk to the Market. 12
Bathroom7 mentions
  • The bathroom had excellent lighting and a large mirror. 4
  • My wife loved it as well as the bathtub. She thought it was funny that the water dropped into the tub from the ceiling. 14
  • I would say that the shower was one area that could use a refresh. That is not to say it was old or dirty, just a bit dated. 14
  • The bath towels were big and thick, giving a luxurious feel. 14
  • The bath towels were big and thick, giving a luxurious feel. There are Le Labo products in the bathroom. Having been to Paris this year, my wife is in love with everything Le Labo, and was very happy to see their products. 14
  • The water pressure and shower head were great. 14
  • I came back to find him like this when I decided to turn in our second night. Our bathroom at the Hyatt House Seattle Downtown was clean and very nice. 10
Value4 mentions
  • The one turn-off is now the cost, as the Hyatt House Seattle Downtown is now just as much as the brand new Hyatt Regency in terms of points per night, after the recent devaluation. 10
  • It was a nice clean room. Their restaurant was pretty meh and somewhat expensive. 14
  • We stayed there last June and it was a nice hotel, especially for the price. 6
  • Things that I could overlook at a standard Hilton, but this place charges at least 4x more than a standard Hilton. 14
Noise3 mentions
  • My second complaint is the elevator. Only one was functional for most of our stay, and it was a huge pain. There were people waiting to board on the lower floors that couldn't always get on, and it took so long to go up and down (lines, and stopping at every floor) that we walked down from the fifth floor a couple times. 10
