The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

This full-service Miramar Beach resort offers direct access to the gulf, extensive pool facilities, and family-friendly accommodations. Guests praise the spacious rooms with bunk beds and dual-sink setups, as well as on-site dining that ranges from casual wood-fired pizza to the Four-Diamond Seagar's steakhouse. However, reviewers consistently complain about extra expenses, notably a $40 daily resort fee and surprise incidental holds on golf carts. Portions of the property also show their age and are in need of cosmetic updates. 471915

  • I love that there are two available sink areas, one out in the "open" and another in the bathroom itself. With a full room you are talking up to eight people getting ready. Two sink/mirror areas are a must. 18
  • The room looked exactly like the pictures. There were paper towels, toilet paper, ice in the freezer, dish soap, sponge, one use pack of laundry soap, a cooler to take down to the beach, blow dryer, etc. Very clean, and literally the only "wrong" thing was a bathroom drawer off its hinges. No dirt or bugs. 4

  • And, all the rooms offer a balcony with a great view of the beach that can help you relax and unwind after a busy day as well as a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. 13
  • The view from the balcony was stunning, with direct views of the blue and emerald green gulf, white sands and views of the Hilton Sandestin property. 21
  • I took quite a few pictures of our room, but I must say this Junior Deluxe Suite was the best! As a family of five, we never have enough room in hotel rooms. 16
  • The bed looks so inviting with a nice room. 18
  • The bunk bed alcove has it's own TV which was great for late night movies and popcorn 19
  • The main sleeping area of the room is spacious, welcoming and relaxing. 18
  • Room was nice and it was clean. 1
  • Plus, the private balcony with two chairs and a table offers a nice evening escape for parents to watch the sunset over the Gulf while the kiddos sleep inside. 15
  • The Jr. Deluxe Suite was a large room that included the bunk bed area I mentioned earlier, as well as a king-size bed in the main area, a large flat-screen television, mini-fridge, coffee maker, large bathroom (with a vanity with sink outside the bathroom as well), couch and table. It was ample space for a family of four. (and then some) 21
  • a nice little balcony it's not huge it's not tiny two chairs and a table On camera1218:11
  • I liked the room and the cookies were a great touch. 18
  • I think our favorite was the shrimp quesadilla we ordered with room service. We had a Junior suite with an ocean view. It has the bunk beds in a separate little enclave for the kids so that was perfect. 1
  • As I was about to get into bed I snuck a peek out of the sliding glass door to find this incredible view from our balcony. The sunset was calm, serene and relaxing. 18
  • The view from our balcony at the height of the day stunned me. I guess it didn't fully dawn on me that I would only see water and sky as far as the eye could see. 18
  • I definitely enjoyed the ocean views and cool breezes on my balcony. 7
  • The room we chose was Westwinds 2B 2.5B #4845 on 20th floor. Stunning view of the expansive water from both bedrooms and living room. 4
  • After checking in, we headed to room. The place was gorgeous and spacious. 11
  • Stunning view of the expansive water from both bedrooms and living room. 4
  • Around 5:40 AM, my wife got bitten and found that it was a bed bug. Killed it and fresh blood came out. 1

  • Seagar's Prime Steaks & Seafood: The only AAA Four Diamond steakhouse in northwest Florida, it was incredible. I highly recommend the tableside Caesar Salad and Bananas Foster to start and end your meal. 10
  • They have their own TVs in each bunk bed. We offer wellness and adult focused experiences including beach side yoga, spa treatments, fitness classes, water sports, tennis courts, bike rentals, and of course all of our dining experiences are are superb. On camera209:31
  • Hadashi Sushi Bar: This was my second favorite meal! Located adjacent to Sandcastles, this sushi bar offers an extensive menu, with everything being exceptionally fresh. 10
  • It was very good, but pricey. Also ate at the bar a couple times as well as ordered room service. Not a bad meal at any of the restaurants. I think our favorite was the shrimp quesadilla we ordered with room service. 1
  • In addition to pastries, they have breakfast sandwiches and wraps that are quite tasty. 13
  • During the recent multi-million dollar renovation, the hotel added a large wood-fired pizza oven. The pizza was fantastic and makes a great, easy meal with kids! 10
  • For dinner that evening, we went back to the Sandcastles Restaurant, where I ordered a delicious entree of spaghetti and meatballs and a hot dog for my little guy. Our server was very accommodating and the meal was very tasty. 21
  • They served good drinks and we had lunch out there a couple times. We only tried Sandcastles breakfast buffet once. It was very good, but pricey. 1
  • Not a bad meal at any of the restaurants. I think our favorite was the shrimp quesadilla we ordered with room service. 1
  • I was happy to see that the buffet had biscuits and gravy for me, too. Our breakfast was hot, delicious and enabled us to get in and out pretty quickly. 21
  • Located near the front desk, this restaurant produces some of the most beautifully presented sushi I have ever seen. It was almost too pretty to eat. But the members of my party who ordered sushi didn't hesitate to dive in - and pronounced it as tasty as it was beautiful. 15
  • We ordered pizza and ice cream for lunch. There was a bit of time for the baking of the pizza, but it was hot and fresh when we received it. 21
  • For dinner that evening, we went back to the Sandcastles Restaurant, where I ordered a delicious entree of spaghetti and meatballs and a hot dog for my little guy. 21
  • Sushi Chef Jin Kim's creations are as beautiful as they are tasty. It was honestly some of the best sushi I have ever had. 7
  • You're welcome. Also located just off the lobby across from Hadashi,Sandcastles is the place where the breakfast buffet is served each morning. It's an expansive (and pretty good) spread, with the standards such as scrambled eggs, fruit, pastries and biscuits and gravy. 15
  • Our Monday was completely free and up for grabs, and our flight wasn't until early evening, so we took our time getting up for breakfast. We decided to eat at Sandcastles again since the buffet was so yummy the morning before. 21
  • The only AAA Four-Diamond steakhouse in all of Northwest Florida, eating here is a dining experience, from the tableside prepped Ceasar salad and bananas foster to the melt-in-your-mouth filet. 15
  • The breakfast buffet at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa has enough variety for even the pickiest of eaters and enough luxury for moms and dads to feel pampered. 19
  • The Sandcastle's Restaurant is a must for breakfast, as you can grab breakfast via the buffet (kids 5 and under are FREE!) It's a great way to start the day and the pasties are amazing! 8
  • The newly opened Coffee Shop at the Hilton Sandestin Beach, located off the main lobby, offers a wide array of specialty Starbucks® Coffee, Tazo teas, fruit, soft drinks, and a delicious assortment of homemade pastries, baked fresh by their in-house chef. 8
  • We were hungry and since we were driving all day, decided to eat the restaurant located on the main level, SandCastles. We had the Three Cheese Rotisserie Chicken Quesadilla, Sandcastles Burger with french fries, and Oreo Crust Cheesecake for dessert! Everything was delicious. 11
  • I was wary based off reviews, but overall, we enjoyed our food, and nothing was dried out, overcooked or bland. 4
  • You can have a buffet breakfast, a continental breakfast or order a la carte if you would like. However, I recommend the buffet breakfast. It is phenomenal! There is just about everything you can imagine and even choose your ingredients for a hand made omelet by the chef! 11
  • During my stay at the Hilton Sandestin, I had the opportunity to dine at every single restaurant. Therefore, I can personally attest that there is something for everyone. And everything I ate (and drank) was fantastic, from tableside Bananas Foster at Seagar's to the best Watermelon Frose I've ever had! 10
  • There were photo ops around, Fat Tuesdays frozen alcoholic drinks, a photo booth that we did, and the restaurants were super busy. We sat on the patio and saw people ziplining over the lake, saw the fantastic fireworks show, and had a great server. 4

  • Meanwhile, this Hilton's guest rooms are beachy chic with bright color palettes and high-end amenities like minifridges, flat-screen TVs and private balconies overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. 2
  • The guest rooms are very spacious and they all have a view. 7
Service15 mentions
  • I asked them to dry clean our fabric stuffs and mail them to my house, which I asked in the very beginning, and they accepted it. Their unprofessional manner and strategy made this problem worse. I don't think I asked too much. They did not try to resolve the problem. 1
  • We sat on the patio poolside and enjoyed the breeze from the water and our server was friendly and helpful. We tried the orange cinnamon roll (delish), beignets (humongous and tasty), tomato soup (also good), strawberry cream cheese French toast, and two other typical breakfast platters. 4
  • Previous review: I am currently staying with a bedbug in this hotel, a room number 644, and the management is not professional at all. 1

  • I am currently staying with a bedbug in this hotel, a room number 644, and the management is not professional at all. 1
  • The Hilton is on the beach, the Hyatt you will have to drive or catch the tram. The Hyatt is super nice, but if you're going for a beach vacation, the Hilton is much more convenient. 14
  • Kyle and Robin said there was a mistake in communication between them and the pest control, and Kyle said it was a sand flea based on his experienced speculation, which was not professional at all. 1
  • For breakfast we went to Sunset Bay Cafe which again, if you go during busy season definitely make a reservation, but it's on Sandestin property on the water. We sat on the patio poolside and enjoyed the breeze from the water and our server was friendly and helpful. 4
  • The employees at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Although we arrived before their 4:00 pm check-in time, one of our rooms was ready and they were able to get us checked in so that we could relax from a long exhausting day. 18
  • Even better, it offers luxurious rooms, elevated service and a laid-back family-friendly vibe. 15
  • Even though it is the largest full-service, beachfront Resort in Northwest Florida, it is budget friendly. 16
  • This was a really nice stop for snacks because first of all, they are affordable, and they also have nice little treats like bags of popcorn and ice-cream cones, which just add to the fun in the sun when you need a little snack. 8
  • The Hyatt is super nice, but if you're going for a beach vacation, the Hilton is much more convenient. 14
  • So much to do and see, plus they have a super sweet and knowledgeable staff. 16
  • The staff was helpful and friendly. Once we finished dinner, we headed back to the room to change for swimming. 21

  • Speaking of venturing out, I'd like to highlight the Hilton Sandestin's fantastic location! This family-friendly Florida resort is located on the grounds of Sandestin in Miramar Beach, Florida. 10
  • The Hilton Sandestin has it all, and you honestly don't have to leave the resort if you don't want to. But if you do, it's centrally located for easy day trips to other popular communities in the Florida panhandle, including the 30A area! 10
  • We were located on the first floor which was nice because we were close to the restaurant, three swimming pools, beach, two hot tubs, kiddie pool, bar, and just about everything else too. 11
Noise3 mentions
  • As mentioned above, there are also flat-screen TVs around the bar area displaying sporting events, in this case, college football, which did make it a bit loud with adult cheering, so that is something that was a bit challenging with my sensory sensitive guy. 21
  • Stangs5 • hace 4 m We stay every year at the Westwinds condos! We stay every year at the Westwinds condos! It's absolutely beautiful and it seems to be on the quieter part of that area. 4
  • We only took the tram once since we decided against the golf cart and it picked us up and took us to Village at Bayside Wharf. It stops at multiple destinations and winds through neighborhoods and that was rather annoying when we realized on the way back it's literally across the street like 2 minutes away had we driven ourselves. 4
