Read it your way

The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina is a bustling waterfront hotel positioned right on the Intracoastal Waterway near Port Everglades. It caters heavily to cruise passengers who value generous room sizes, mini-fridges, and convenient port transfers. However, guests consistently push back against the steep total cost, pointing to mandatory daily resort fees and expensive on-site dining. 174714

  • We didn't have breakfast here, as we were boarding our Disney Destiny cruise and realized that non stop food wasn't very far into our future. We did however, go for Happy Hour in the roof top Olive and Sea. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Good service, great views and good prices. 7
  • If the price is right the Hotel Maren (Hilton Curio) is outstanding and for three night would be my choice. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite last time and it was amazing. 9

  • The room was not large but was fine for the one night stay. 14
  • The decor matches the style of the front lobby with soothing blue ocean photos on the walls, as well as calming neutrals with the occasional splash of color. 2
  • It really felt more like a luxury condo than a hotel room and with the addition of a kitchenette I'd live in this room happily. Everything was spacious, elegant and comfortable. 8
  • The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the mini refrigerator definitely came in handy for keeping drinks cold. 4
  • But, I'd say the room is lovely and the bedroom I mean, you can really move around in this place. You've got loads of it. I could go for a jog. It's so big. 24
  • However, when you book a hotel 6 months in advance, this is totally unacceptable. It took over an hour of stressful back-and-forth before we were finally moved to a suitable room, not as high a floor as we had booked. But thankfully a lovely room with a view. 19
  • This busy hotel offers a variety of room types, all including comfortable bedding and bright bathrooms. 5
  • They are very modern and clean. We stayed there twice , love waking up and being able to see the ship from balcony, outdoor restaurant and bar . Decent hotel. 21
  • Pay extra for suite with marina view The high floor is cool to see the cruise ships arrive but small as hell 15
  • Reply It was a great place to stay! We really liked the pool, definitely the highlight for me, along with the balcony room. It was a perfect location before our cruise! 2
  • Don't worry, there are blackout curtains for sleeping at night that truly kept the early morning sunshine out of the room. 2
  • Yeah, they put the air con on. It's a bit like a hurricane in your room, really. So, you have to turn it down a a bit On camera2413:20
  • The room itself was clean and comfortable. 2
  • And we're out into our beautiful balcony. On camera248:33
  • There was a wonderful view of Port Everglades where we would catch our cruise ship the next day. It was great being able to sit outside on our own private balcony, relax, and watch the sailboats and yachts sailing by. 2
  • The rooms, as advertised, are beautifully designed with elegant decor, spacious layouts, and high-end furnishings. 19
  • The room we had in the tower faced the port and was very nice and clean. 15
  • Look at the size of the sofa. Very nice. Oh. Right. Is that a sofa bed? 24
  • The Two Double Beds Intra Coastal View room was smaller than an average hotel room, but consistent with the older era. The room had been renovated and was fit to modern standards. 18
  • Location-wise it's super convenient, but room quality and cleanliness feel inconsistent. 15
  • The Marina View Room with a balcony is highly recommended for those looking to elevate their stay. The views are breathtaking; we so enjoyed soaking in the beauty of Fort Lauderdale's waterfront whilst we sipped wine on our balcony. 19
  • I want to show you a tour of our room we're in 908 we have a beautiful Harbor View we can see the ship from our room On camera120:20
  • okay so this room I'm getting a little lost but what it is it's got a balcony inner inner Coastal Waterway balcony and it's got the king bed so really ni nice room On camera102:46
  • One of my favorite parts was the view. From the front of the balcony, we could see the port, while the side overlooked the marina filled with boats. It was nice being able to enjoy both views without leaving the room. 4
  • Yeah, it's free. It's a free safe. I do like a free safe, guys. Plenty of room in there, though. On camera247:11
  • I loved the balcony view and would highly recommend booking a Marina View Tower room for this very reason! 2

  • Past guests recommend asking for a room with a marina view to avoid noise from the 17th Street Causeway. However, even with the scenic views, guests are disappointed with the poor conditions of the rooms, saying they are in need of some upgrades (as well as a good cleaning). 17
  • Situated directly across the street from Port Everglades it offers resort amenities along with beautiful views of the cruise port and the Fort Lauderdale Marina. 14

Location13 mentions
  • Whilst the Hilton is in a fabulous tranquil location, if you plan to get out and about these hotels are in great spots. 19
  • The Hilton Fort Lauderdale, located on the Intracoastal Waterway, has beautiful marina views and is convenient for those who are docking their boats. 17
  • I wouldn't book that location for a 3 night stay pre-cruise...it's not in walking distance to the beach or many restaurants...very busy area...it's basically right off a highway. 9
  • Good choice on the Embassy Suites. Also, I stayed at the Hilton Marina when I cruised back in May. It was a quick commute to Port Everglades and was also within walking distance of many restaurants and even a Walgreen's in case you need some last minute items before the cruise. 11
  • The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina is ideally located adjacent to Port Everglades where all of the cruise ships dock. 2
  • Press the question mark key to get the keyboard shortcuts for changing dates. Its ultra-convenient location at the edge of the Intracoastal Waterway makes the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina a popular rest stop for cruise-liner crowds and business travelers. 17
  • Location-wise it's super convenient, but room quality and cleanliness feel inconsistent. 15
  • If you're thinking of staying at a hotel before a cruise, this is the perfect place to stay. It is located directly across the road from Port Everglades, making for a simple and stress-free trip to the port. 2
  • The bad: there isn't much around this property if you don't have a car. While there is a Chipotle, an Bayoni Italian restaurant and the Boatyard restaurant about a 7-10 minute walk by foot from the property, I can't imagine many guests that are of the hotels' target audience actually walking the distance. 18
  • With lots of shops and restaurants on 17th Street this is a great location for both cruisers and beach goers. 8
  • One of the biggest advantages of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina is its location. It's conveniently located near both Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades, making travel day much less stressful. 4
  • Popular with tourist families and pre/post-cruise travelers. this was one great place i visited in aug 2017, the company was super, location at 17th was great, the staff did a great job to 16
  • The Hilton Marina Hotel is the perfect location for a chilled retreat in Fort Lauderdale. You have access to busier areas, but there is not too much near to walk to right on the doorstep. 19

  • Yeah, do the towel test. What's it feel like? Bit rough, bit rough. Is it exfoliating, hey? 24
  • I was there last week, the rooms were nice in the tower BUT, i didn't like the beds, they felt very worn out. 15
  • As friendly as the reception staff were, we were not treated like valued customers, but as if we should be grateful they gave us a room and were very evasive about whether they provided a room to the level we paid for. 19
  • Popular with tourist families and pre/post-cruise travelers. this was one great place i visited in aug 2017, the company was super, location at 17th was great, the staff did a great job to 16
  • After we finished checking in the bellman was asking for our room number so he could bring our luggage upstairs. It was a nice touch and made arriving after traveling feel effortless. 4
  • The pillows were amazing. I want to buy one of them pillows cuz my ones are rubbish at home. On camera2413:34
  • Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff gave us our room keys along with a couple of complimentary bottles of water. 4
  • If there were any other reasonable option with transport to the ship, I'd say go elsewhere. But the shuttle service got us there ahead of people with a 10:45 Port Arrival Time, so for that reason alone, I'll stay there again. 15

  • But, right. It's clean. It's all been cleaned. On camera2411:13
  • Unfortunately, our experience at check-in was far from ideal. Despite booking and paying extra for a Marina View Room, we were given a damp-smelling room, which was marina facing, but also next to a car park on the ground floor and surrounded by trees with no view. 19
  • Unfortunately, when our food arrived, it was lukewarm. We informed the staff, but the issue was not acknowledged, which was disappointing. 19

  • Overall, the food tasted great; it just needed to be warmer, and by this point, we had had enough after check-in, so we just ate it. 19
  • The breakfast is a buffet but it features restaurant seating and service. It's a very good meal but at $35 I wouldn't be doing it daily. 8
  • Breakfast buffet is decent- with Hilton gold we got $50 credit a day for food/beverage. Adult breakfast is $30 with 18 or 20% autograt added (can't remember which). Kids is $20. 15

  • Kids is $20. There's a small cafe that has coffee and quick grab items. Priced to gauge you. 15
  • Room service is limited and takes forever to arrive. 15
  • The convenience of a 5 min ride was awesome but I think proximity to more food options and a better hotel is the way I would go. 15
  • I had eaten at the breakfast buffet years ago during a previous stay and remember it being very good. That said, both the buffet and grab-and-go options can get expensive. For example, two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches and a small fruit bowl came to about $43. 4

  • Great hotel and definitely book a tower room on a high floor to see the cruise ships.....only thing i don't like about this hotel is the daily resort fee, but using points helps with this. 9
  • The room was quite expensive, but overall nice. 15
  • I was in tower room #336. It was clean & comfortable, but in my honest opinion not worth the cost. 15
  • It's a good value, with a large pool and modern, well-kept, contemporary rooms, but there's a downside -- getting to the beach requires a car (although the hotel provides a free shuttle service). 20
  • The price was 300 and how much dollars? $26. That includes your taxes and your resort fee for the night. Yeah. So, not not the cheapest. 24
  • The food was tasty but expensive and definitely not with kids in mind at all. 15
  • We haven't stayed there in the last year but we have stayed there twice. Our last visit was around 2 years ago and we won't be back. Very overpriced and the RUDEST staff we have ever encountered at a hotel. 21
  • Adding $30 or $89 a night in fees really adds up quickly and can become a dealbreaker. 8
