The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Located four miles out from the uptown tourist area, this West Sedona property serves as a quiet and convenient base for exploring local hiking trails and restaurants. Guests value the comfortable beds with four pillows, split bathroom layout, and friendly front desk service. However, reviewers consistently complain about stale, bitter lobby coffee and dated furniture in older rooms. 101119

Every line below traces back to something a traveler actually wrote — open a line to read the original sentence and follow it to the source.

What travelers noticed

  • Guests agree the West Sedona location provides a quiet stay off the main strip while remaining close to grocery shopping and restaurants. 102
  • The hotel maintains clean rooms with comfortable beds, each equipped with four pillows, alongside video streaming on the television. 113
  • Bathrooms with a door separating the sink from the shower and toilet are highlighted as convenient for families. 11
  • The front desk staff receives consistent praise for offering luggage storage and smooth service. 310

The catch

  • Some guests note the remodeled rooms feel clean and tech-friendly, while others complain that the carpets and furniture look old. 1
  • While some visitors enjoy the standard amenities, others feel the property is too expensive for what is offered and represents poor value for 42,000 Hilton points. 1

Who it's for

  • Families needing split bathroom layouts
  • Hikers wanting a quiet base away from uptown crowds
  • Guests looking for a hot complimentary breakfast

Skip it if

  • Guests expecting completely modern room furniture and carpets
  • Coffee enthusiasts seeking fresh lobby brews
  • Travelers who want to be steps from uptown shops

  • The coffee was pre-ground and measured out for 2 people (so cute!), and the non-liquor minibar/snack items were complimentary (we very much wish we'd taken some of these to go since we paid $55 for drinks and snacks at the Enchantment market later). 2

  • We ended up getting an upgrade and staying in Room 32, which I believe is technically a Forest View room (thanks again @alex_travels), but because of its positioning, has a straight-on view of the creek, the trees, the pool, and the red rocks! I was so stoked about the view, and it was really fun doing the automatic blinds for sunrise in the morning to such a beautiful view. 2
  • Overall, as we looked at the hotel from the lobby to the hotel room, we found it absolutely immaculate and clean (unlike our stay in Phoenix at the same Hilton chain). 11

  • The room had two pretty comfortable beds (I might be biased because we did some strenuous hikes during the day) each with four pillows. 11

  • The actual room itself is like if Restoration Hardware went to NYU for a year, and came back with a massive budget to back up the vision. It was moody, but offset by hints of plushness (and the beautiful copper fixtures everywhere; and the giant charcoal tub in every room!). 2
  • The inside decor is old. Carpet, furniture all look old. 1

  • Morning breakfast was included. It has meat, egg, pastry and fruits. But the quality was not as good as most of the hotels we've been. 1
  • The coffee in hotel lobby was stale and not very hot. It tasted bitter and I had to pour away. 1
  • The coffee was pre-ground and measured out for 2 people (so cute!), and the non-liquor minibar/snack items were complimentary (we very much wish we'd taken some of these to go since we paid $55 for drinks and snacks at the Enchantment market later). 2
  • Food: They have one restaurant (Forty1) that was delicious, but if I was staying longer, I think I would have gotten a little bored with the same menu. 2
  • Room service does not actually bring food to your room. We had ordered 4 ice creams for the kids to the room, but we had to actually go downstairs and get it ourselves. 11
  • I could have kicked myself for not bringing a drone for this place. They have one restaurant (Forty1) that was delicious, but if I was staying longer, I think I would have gotten a little bored with the same menu. 2
Value5 mentions
  • Overall, it was pretty expensive for just a hotel. 11
  • For our family of 4 kids and 2 adults, it turn out to be around $822 a night for two nights over spring break in April. This was quite high, considering that our hotel stay at Disney World for a villa suite was this price for four nights. 11
  • I stayed at Wildflower once, was fine for what you are looking for. Trails close etc, price pretty good too. 9
  • At 42,000 Hilton points, the total point value is about $210. For the service offered, this was not a really good value. 1
  • La Quinta in Oak creek can be the ticket. Clean and great access to many things. Surprisingly cheap sometimes. 9

  • Avoid the Best Western Inn of Sedona. Although it has great views, the attitued of the management staff is terrible. 10

  • The hotel was super clean and the staff were really friendly. 11
  • As it is, the vibe, the experience, and the enthusiastic joy of the staff made it a 5 star experience for us. 2
  • There was also a level of enthusiasm and joy that I've only seen at a few hotels-the employee who took us on the golf cart to our room couldn't help but tell us all of the cool things about the property and how much he loved it (reminded me of the first time we went to the Fifth Avenue Hotel in NY); it just felt really genuine. 2
  • Avoid the Best Western Inn of Sedona. Although it has great views, the attitued of the management staff is terrible. My wife and I have just stayed there and we had cosmetics stolen from our locked room, obviously by the housekeeping staff. The front desk management did NOTHING to help and were rude. 10
  • Bell Rock is my favorite hotel in Sedona. The rooms are great, the pool is nice, and they have the best Prickly Pear margaritas at the bar. 4
  • Service: Man, this was awesome! Valet took our car and bags, we were greeted by name by everyone in the lobby, champagne toast at check-in (and in the room, thanks @alex_travels!). 2

  • Squarely aimed at road-trippers, much less at anyone requiring quiet air conditioning. 5
  • I'll talk about this more in the next review, but Enchantment actually had more ambient noise from the next room over compared to Ambiente, which was silent for us. 2
