The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Located in the Dallas Arts District, HALL Arts Hotel surrounds guests with curated artwork and floor-to-ceiling downtown views. Rooms feature creative bathroom layouts with his-and-her sinks and bathtubs overlooking the district, alongside dining at Ellie's restaurant. However, soundproofing around the water closets is noticeably weak, and the in-room work desks are too tiny and cluttered with Keurig machines to be functional for business tasks. 2011421

  • Suites have a tub "situated right in front of the window giving bathers a chance to see the sweeping views of the most iconic buildings in the Dallas skyline while neck-deep in bubbles." 20
  • The work desk was close to useless because of how tiny the working surface was. It was mainly occupied by in-room glasses and a Keurig machine, and I had to rearrange them to use the desk for work. 1
  • Across from the bed, a TV was on top of a dresser, and I actually used the TV on one of the nights using its Google Chromecast feature to watch Netflix shows. It worked seamlessly and I appreciated the flexibility of not being limited to cable channels. 1
  • All 224 rooms (king and queen beds only) are spacious at nearly 400 square feet, but the 60 Reserve Suites are what I'd call "Texas-sized," with some exceeding 1,000 square feet. 6
  • A mini-fridge was discreetly hidden under the desk, and it didn't function properly at first. I had to call maintenance to check the fridge, and unfortunately, they did not resolve the issue, and my water stayed slightly below room temperature during my stay. 1
  • The views from the room were not as dynamic as the ones from W Austin, but I still enjoyed them. 1
  • The service at Hall Arts Hotel was exceptional, and our room was spotless. A true 5 star Dallas hotel experience. 8
  • Of course, it's easy to make yourself right at home with the plush bed and gorgeous styling at Hall Arts Hotel. 8
  • So, yeah, this was room 510 here at the Hall Arts Hotel in Arts District, Dallas. Very nice. Probably the classiest room I've ever been in other than the Fairmont in Austin. On camera1912:49
  • In-room decor is sleek with neutral tones and cloud-like mattresses. 6
  • my king room was beautifully crafted with curated photography and modern Design Elements I could unwind with a book by the large windows that extended all the way into the bathroom elevating my daily routine On camera30:14
  • The panoramic views from our guest room were stunning. 8
  • I will say the desk area though is very nice, and they even have recycling. How thoughtful. On camera195:25
  • The room wasn't just beautiful; it was fully equipped for a luxurious stay. A smart control system allowed us to customize the lighting and temperature with ease. 21
  • Now it's a fridge that you can use, which I actually like that. So, very good on them for not having a mini bar. On camera194:45

  • The property fills a much needed hotel-shaped hole in the city's famous art's district; a perfect base from which to explore 12

  • The feast at Ellie's Restaurant starts long before dinner is served. The new restaurant, located on the second floor of the HALL Arts Hotel and Residences in the Dallas Arts District, is a visual masterpiece. 20
  • The dining area was commodious and displayed numerous artworks on the floor. 1
  • And dinner is phenomenal. Even if you're not staying at the Hall Arts Hotel, it's a great place for dinner or drinks right before a show at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Meyerson Theater, Moody Theatre, or any of the other wonderful arts and performance venues. 21
  • This spectacular restaurant and lounge makes for a perfect extension of the art-filled HALL Arts Hotel. 20
  • The restaurant, Hall Arts Cafe, brings the same creative energy to the food and drink program. 14
  • Ellie's Restaurant serves fresh locally-sourced cuisine in a grand but relaxed space. There's a beautiful much-coveted terrace 12
  • y, the food was mediocre at best. Both the bagel and the breakfast sandwich were toasted yet cold, and the accompanying side salads were soggy. 1
  • Nothing was special from the breakfast, and it was comparable to any continental breakfasts one would get from budget hotels. 1
  • As for the food, executive chef Eric Sakai has spent time in Michelin-star kitchens and Italy, so the house-made pasta is a must. 6
  • The award-winning Ellie's restaurant, rooftop pool, and premier fitness center elevate the experience even further. 21
  • Luckily, you can order more at Ellies restaurant upstairs which offers incredible American cuisine. 21
  • my dining experience at Ellie's restaurant lounge was a culinary Adventure On camera30:46
  • And breakfast was just as delightful. We could view the art pieces from our table while indulging in cinnamon roll waffles and decadent cream french toast! 21

  • Across the street from SMU, the first Texas Graduate hotel gets an "A" for walkability, friendly service, and clever design. 15
  • The service at the Hall Arts Hotel was incredible. I was never allowed to touch the front door and the staff were so accommodating in every way possible. If we ever needed something, they attended to it promptly. 21
  • Because I hold the Diamond Hilton Honors status, I gently asked if an upgrade was available. The front desk representative denied the upgrade although many upgradable rooms were available at the time of the check-in. 1

  • Exceptional service in a perfect location. 15
Bathroom6 mentions
  • I was delighted to see (and even more excited to smell) the Klur bath products. 6
  • The bathroom had two single vanities and a walk-in shower. The back-to-back orientation of the sinks was a creative use of the tight space. 1
  • But the best part was definitely the tub with a view of the arts district. This might be the best hotel bathtub in all of Dallas! 21
  • The toiletries were by Natura Bissé, a skincare company based in Barcelona. The bath gel was passable, but the shampoo made my hair dry. 1
  • The shower had dual shower heads, and while the shower booth was clean and I wish the water pressure was higher. 1
  • And not to mention the sink area! I love the little touches like the chair for doing makeup in the morning and the his and her sinks! 21
View2 mentions
  • And I was so glad we did. The view from the rooftop was truly exceptional. 8
  • The view from the rooftop was not as mesmerizing as other properties since it overlooked an empty parking lot, but I still appreciated the option to lounge outside while soaking up the sun. 1
Noise1 mention
  • The toilet was in a water closet, and while the wall was whimsical, it lacked soundproofing. 1
