The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Embassy Suites by Hilton Anaheim North offers spacious multi-room layouts with complimentary breakfast and solid views of the mountains and fireworks. Guests appreciate the generous room sizing and convenient location. However, visitors consistently run into maintenance problems including worn furniture, stale odors, and thin walls that let in hallway and neighbor noise. Front desk operations and digital app check-in can also be sluggish. 11435

What travelers noticed

  • Noise insulation is poor, with guests reporting they can hear everything through the walls even on high floors. 5
  • Bathrooms are spacious with dedicated vanity areas and dispensers for sustainable shampoo and soap. drawn from the full read
  • The hotel offers a convenient location paired with generally reasonable rates. 1

The catch

  • The complimentary breakfast splits opinion: some enjoy the massive hot spread with made-to-order omelettes and pancakes, while others call it cheap institutional food with basic snacks. 17
  • Room upkeep draws mixed reactions, with some guests finding updated spaces while others report worn furniture, dirty carpets, and weak water pressure. drawn from the full read

  • Guests wanting distant fireworks views
  • Travelers looking for cooked-to-order breakfast

Skip it if

  • Light sleepers bothered by thin walls
  • Guests who demand modern, fresh carpets and furniture
  • Travelers expecting high water pressure

  • The Garden Grove one is clean and safe and about a one mile walk to the parks. 17
Food8 mentions · 1 filmed
  • None of us felt the happy hour and breakfast were anything to write home about. I remember the breakfast being especially bad (cold food, ran out of food?). 1
  • Also, Monterey Bay CA. Also, no matter where now the breakfast buffet doesn't stand out and most manager happy hours are an effort to clear out whatever bottom rack 1/2 pony keg they have left over, and a half hearted snack option. 12
  • They're going to add 20% tips on top. Whether you're dining in or taking it to go. It is a full service hotel, so I won't complain, but I would rather spend my dining credits at the market for snacks, ice cream, or pastry rather than using it at the restaurant. You're basically giving it away for tips. On camera32:51
  • Guests find the hotel offers fast room service, adding convenience to their stay. 16
  • 2. The breakfast is the typical cheap institutional type food, substandard not restaurant quality and complementary snacks are gold fish crackers or tortilla chips and raw broccoli and carrots. 17
  • Some note that the breakfast menu is repetitive and that hot items often run out early. 16
  • No matter if it was business or family travel, the breakfast was always a plus. 12
  • I will agree the breakfast could be a bit smoother in it's presentation. 1

  • I didn't mind the ES and it's been a couple years since I was there...but I did NOT like the Hilton Marina, due to cleanliness, condition of the room and lousy staff attitude.....I will not return there..... 1
  • Both of our last 2 stays there in Fort Lauderdale, the room was dirty upon entering. 1
  • My room was worn out, sloppily maintained, and dirty except for the bed linens which were thankfully bright white. 14
  • so it has a separate room the room has a mirror on the door it's got its own TV and you can get either two double beds or you can get a king and it's really nice there's lots of storage On camera43:11

  • The carpet was dirty (and sticky in the last room!!). 1
  • Since that time, we have stayed at the Hilton Marina (totally enjoyed our stay, room was spotless and the ships are right in your backdoor!). 1
  • Bring a portable fan since room heating is broken and air conditioning is locked at 71 degrees. 16
  • I did and still like the layout for young families with parents on one area kids in the other with a pullout bed/tv setup for them in the evening. 12
  • No idea whats going on here. Incompetence? Something nefarious? Who knows, but that's enough for me. I'm not sleeping or leaving my luggage in a room that clearly isn't secure. 14
  • The furniture was worn badly. 1
  • In the 1990s, I had 2 little girls & that living room was handy for putting up their cribs or later putting them in the sofa bed. No matter if it was business or family travel, the breakfast was always a plus. 12
  • I just wanted to show you we have a room with a view of the fireworks so this is actually really a beautiful view I think On camera43:49
  • Yes the hotel is rundown and not in good shape, but two of your issues is on you. they also have old ass rooms with old tvs and for what they charge and it being a suite I would think they would have better tvs and more updated rooms 14
  • 3. Wi-Fi is almost not usable due to being soooo slow and only worked in the very front of the living room near the window and some days we've had no tv. 17

  • Recent guests appreciated the staff at this property, which offers a complimentary hot breakfast and a free evening reception with snacks and beverages. 11
  • Use the hotel app to complete check-in remotely, but expect the process can take up to 40 minutes. 16
  • I will say, the front desk manager was very apologetic, zeroed out my stay, and gave me points without asking, so props to her. 14
  • In the old days, the evening receptions at Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, and Staybridge Suites were really nice. After 2020, most of the hotels switched to prepackaged or limited snacks. They often tend to run out of snacks and reduce the time as well. 12
  • The one I stayed in Portland Maine had roaches everywhere so not always nice. 12
  • I didn't mind the ES and it's been a couple years since I was there...but I did NOT like the Hilton Marina, due to cleanliness, condition of the room and lousy staff attitude.....I will not return there..... 1
  • The staff as well never seemed too happy either. 1

  • The price for ES has continued to be higher in the past couple of years. Our last two stays at ES were not good. Customer service was not good and when we arrived the last time at 8pm at night, we walked into a dirty room that hadn't been cleaned. 1
  • Have been there twice since your stay (2011 isn't really that recent) and can't agree with your review. Yes, it has gotten expensive...demand is very high. 1

  • Last one I stayed in had the water pressure of a 90 year old man with a watermelon sized prostate. I didn't go back two weeks later. 12
