  • We stayed at the Back Bay Inn and the location was perfect!!! We didn't have any issues with crime while we were there, HOWEVER, we also didn't venture outside of the historic district after dark and kept to the "touristy" areas at night. 23
  • Holiday Inn Express Historic District - great hotel, perfect location. 23

  • We parked our car in the Liberty Street Garage just down the block rather than paying their valet fees. We stayed at The DeSoto and really appreciated the convenience. We had a great balcony view, we could walk to everything, it was close to the trolley stop, and the staff were friendly. 12
  • I say The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort.... it's by far the best hotel I've stayed at downtown especially for the price. It's not overly expensive and there's plenty of amenities. Plus you get to ride the ferry back and forth across the river to River St! It's next to the convention center and the views are amazing! 1

  • The room was very big which was nice for four people. 23
  • We noticed that when we were there last June , wow..what a sight to have a huge ship slowly drift past your window ~ 22
  • The Hyatt is in the middle of a huge renovation. We stayed in a redone room and it was pretty nice and the public areas are almost done 22
  • Two chairs and a small table on the balcony. Lovely to just sit there and watch the sunrise. 12
  • If you get a river facing room, the ships will be going by at all hours of the day. It's awesome! 1
  • I absolutely LOVED it there. We stayed at the Marshall House and would highly recommend it - great location and wonderful staff. The room was enormous but also cozy. 12
  • Beautiful decor in both public spaces and rooms. 22
  • first The Good the room itself nice very very pretty yes they've done a great job decorating it's got a fun modern feel to it super nice On camera243:36
  • Loved our room. It had a mini fridge. Beautiful corner room with a balcony facing St. John's church. 12
  • Comfortable room in a good location. 4
  • The room smelled musty and the area seemed sketchy. 4
  • I booked mom a corner room riverfront at the JW for her 80th. She loved it! 1
  • The room was very nice. Only drawback was no coffee pot or microwave in the room. 12
  • The place was lovely though the beds in our room were just okay (harry truman) others looked nicer but we needed two double beds. 23
  • this is our view from our window we'll talk about the road in a second but one of the cool things is you do got a real nice view of the Savannah bridge over there which that is I really like that On camera241:47
  • Midtown is fine for commuting in and ticking some items off of your list, but it isn't like living in Savannah. This week I stayed at the Hyatt. Lovely room. Very, very quiet. 23

  • Small dirty rooms and homeless people sleeping outside doors. 4

  • As far as staff and amenities, it's first rate - and it has the historic vibe. 12
  • From the front desk staff to the bell hops to their historian, I'm convinced the employees at The Marshall House are some of the friendliest in the business! 12
  • NOT bardo. we stayed there recently and it was abysmal. Lackluster rooms/amenities and the customer service was atrocious. 1
  • The inn is also pet friendly! Just checked into the East Bay Inn, and it's already our favorite hotel in Savannah! The high ceilings! The exposed brick walls! The excellent service! 12
  • Your dad might like The Bryce. It's nice, close enough to experience the city, but just removed enough to not feel overwhelmed. 1
  • The concierge was very helpful arranging a 4:30 a.m. ride to the airport. 12
  • Lackluster rooms/amenities and the customer service was atrocious. We had to switch h rooms because the AC didn't work in the first one and they kept gaslighting us saying it was fixed and it never was - had to call maintenance over 10 times before they would switch our rooms. 1
  • The front desk staff was very nice. 4
  • Perry Lane is really nice, rooms and lobby are beautiful and the customer service is up to par! 1
  • East Bay Inn - great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and a nice bar attached 🙂 12
  • Hallways were never clean. Q tips in the walkway the whole visit and a molded towel left by the ice machine the whole trip. 19

  • We couldn't leave without seeing it though so stopped there before heading to the airport for our flight home. We wandered around and even downloaded the audio tour app but it wasn't great. 18
  • Why not a Bed & Breakfast like the Kehoe House? Luxurious rooms, excellent breakfast, fantastic location, quiet but walkable area. 1
  • We stayed at the Back Bay Inn and the location was perfect!!! We didn't have any issues with crime while we were there, HOWEVER, we also didn't venture outside of the historic district after dark and kept to the "touristy" areas at night. 23
  • Comfortable room in a good location. 4
  • Many years ago I stayed at the Hilton Desoto and found it very convenient. I didn't have a car and walked everywhere in the Historic District. 23
  • While I do think this hotel is in need of some updates, the location is the big win for me. 12
  • Have stayed at HGI on Bay street twice and really like it and can easily recommend it. For convenience and safety this is definitely the one to choose you can easily and safely walk anywhere in historic district from here. 23
  • and the location awesome yes cannot be be you were literally across the street from the Riverwalk On camera243:45
  • Holiday Inn Express Historic District - great hotel, perfect location. 23
  • I stayed in the Perry Lane Hotel. It has the perfect location near Colonial Park Cemetery, the Cathedral, and Chippewa Square. 12
  • I just returned from the Hampton Inn in the historic district (tonight) and remain very pleased. An upsale Hampton, great location, nice rooms, high speed internet, complimentary breakfast (including eggs), honor bar in the lobby, nice decor, and rooftop pool. 22
  • The only drawback is the trip to the historic district, a bit circuitous by car, but there's a water taxi too. The schedule was unreliable and hopefully that has improved. 22
  • My favorite thing about it: Like many locals, I love spending time outdoors in Savannah - especially in beautiful Forsyth Park. This historic Victorian-era hotel faces the park, so it's in a great location. It's an ideal place to stay if you want to feel more like a local than a tourist. 12
  • Location, location, location. It's no secret that I love the quieter southern section of the Historic District, and Perry Lane falls within that zone. It's so easy to walk to restaurants and landmarks using the hotel as a home base! 12
  • The nearest bus stop G is about 500 metres away. This accommodation offers a perfect location a stone's throw from a river. 14
  • Great walking neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants! 12
  • The location is great. It's far enough removed from the riverfront that it's out of the non-stop party zone, but it's close enough that you can still walk to River Street or City Market in less than 10 minutes. 12
  • so we booked this on booking.com is 150 for the night which isn't too bad to be in Downtown Savannah yeah like in the histor district that's a great price great price On camera244:01
  • It was handy for everything. However, if I were to stay in Savannah again I would think seriously about the Mulberry-I liked it's location being removed from the tourism stuff and thought it was lovely. 22
  • The perfect location will easily bring you to the Four block City Open-Air Market, located 0.2 miles away, and to Olde Pink House, which is also 0.5 miles away. 16
Food8 mentions
  • Breakfast is included and tastes very good. There is a wine happy hour every night and live entertainment on Friday. 12
  • Nice breakfast and felt welcome with fur baby. 4
  • The JW Marriot is really nice high end with a museum on the first floor and some nice bar/restaurants attached and it's in the new garden district added to river front a few years ago. 1
  • It's awesome! They don't serve breakfast but there is a great bakery on the ground floor called Stevedore. 1
  • Bahaha! We had brunch at 700 Drayton, and it was all so beautiful! You can see the fountain and the park from the windows. 12
  • I love the Thompson because it's a beautiful hotel but it isn't opulent or fancy. It's just an elegant hotel with two fantastic restaurants and a beautiful bar. 1
  • We spent four nights at the Marshall House over Halloween weekend. What a beautiful hotel! Breakfast is included and tastes very good. There is a wine happy hour every night and live entertainment on Friday. Everyone we encountered was so pleasant and seemed to love their job! 12
  • The hotel bar had great food and drinks. 12
Noise5 mentions
  • Cookies wait in the lobby from 5-7 PM, and rooms open directly to the outdoors. A walk to River Street takes minutes. Best for historic district sightseers, less so for those seeking quiet away from street noise. 16
  • Midtown is fine for commuting in and ticking some items off of your list, but it isn't like living in Savannah. This week I stayed at the Hyatt. Lovely room. Very, very quiet. 23
  • We usually stay at the desoto. I like that area better it's a bit quieter 1
  • I stayed at East Bay Inn and loved the easy access to River Street. 12
  • Walls were thick enough that we didn't hear anyone else. 12
