Read it your way

Divided into an adults-only Marina side and family-friendly Ocean Suites, this downtown Oranjestad property offers easy access to a private island, a casino, and harbor views. The location is convenient for exploring nearby restaurants, and rooms offer comfortable king-size beds and flat-screen TVs. However, guests frequently complain about noticeable street and airport noise, alongside slow service and underwhelming elite benefits. 11181315

  • We love being able to check into our hotel shortly after a long flight and with less than 10 minutes to the Queen Beatrix International Airport the location of Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort is unbeatable. 4
  • The location puts you within convenient walking distance of some notable downtown restaurants, and also offers delicious on-property choices as well, like the table-side butcher experience at L.G. Smith's Steak & Chop House. 13

  • Personally, $350 for a week at a beach resort anywhere is cheap; you can't even get a Motel 6 anywhere for that price. 15
  • The biggest draw for me to stay at this property was the private Renaissance Island. I wrote about my experience feeding flamingos and iguanas there. It's a nice space and the boat ride justifies the resort fee (this is something you hardly ever hear me say about these fees). 14

  • I know it is not my fault the room/suite was bad, but I still feel bad. But, as they said, for $350, they got what they paid for. 15
  • The decor here has a bold, almost playful feel. Claw-foot armoires are painted in bright colors, egg-shaped lounge chairs and low string chairs are set about the space, and bright blue patterned wallpaper create the feeling of having stepped into a giant dollhouse -- a trendy, futuristic one, that is. 9
  • Renovated rooms in the adults-only Marina Hotel are super-modern and trendy, designed to look like a custom yacht, with slick furniture and neutral colors brightened by pops of aqua. 11
  • All 556 rooms are impeccably modern, with a blend of sophisticated and retro decor plus coffeemakers, MP3 players, and flat-screen TVs. 9
  • That said, the room was pretty much what you'd expect from a Caribbean island hotel. Clean and functional, but nothing especially memorable. 5
  • The only downside is the room sizes. I cannot speak to all of the room sizes but we booked the junior suite and it felt very small. 17
  • The view from our room was also nice although it only featured a French balcony On camera193:28
  • then the room itself oo look at that I like this Decor this is nice especially whatever these Nest things are for the lights On camera202:14
  • this is a double bedroom with attached ensuite the bathrooms are all very modern and tastefully decorated 18
  • While the hotel doesn't explicitly list room sizes, guests consistently praise the spaciousness of the accommodations. On camera31:02
  • Rooms at the Marina are standard rooms in creamy hues and wood decor, with king size beds or two doubles, with all mod cons and are a bit more luxurious. 6
  • The suite has a very comfortable king size bed in the Bedroom with decent furniture and flat screen TV. 15
  • ust 23 square meters (260 square feet), and the Ocean King Room (Marina) that we saw comes in at just 27 square meters (301 square feet). It doesn't help that many windows face the mall and lobby below, so sitting on the narrow balcony is neither private nor a respite. 9
  • LR is cozy with decent sofa bed for two, table with 4 chairs for meals, coffee table and flat screen TV. 15
  • welcome you know what i like the decor it gives the this island feel right it's nice i like this what is your personal oasis looks good right 1
  • The sofa was a light blue with yellow rope design, had a large rip through one of the cushions. 15
  • it's not a very big room but i think it's perfect for a couple and let's check out how the view looks like from here On camera11:19
  • The more family-focused Renaissance Ocean Suites' 2014 renovations brought topnotch technology and neutral colors to island decor. 11
  • The room itself was modern and comfortable, and it worked well for our three-night stay. 5
  • No room upgrade, just top floor, but the room was fine and had to have been renovated in the last 5 years. 8

  • On the plus side, guests consistently rave about the cleanliness, friendly service, and unbeatable location. On camera36:53
  • the main building features an open Lobby and a nice Atrium from which many of the rooms can be seen we found ours to be of an ample size and with all of the features you can come to expect from a Renaissance Resort On camera190:20
  • The hotel doesn't provide airport shuttle services but alternative transportations are available; either grab a taxi, book a private pick up service, or get a rental car. 4
  • just checked in and as I was going in the opposite direction of where the elevators are for their room one of the staff stopped me I thought I was lost it's kind of cute On camera201:24
  • The bathrooms at both the family and adult-only sides of the resort are pleasantly bright, with rainfall showers, lots of counter space, and a generous supply of towels. 9
  • The staff was amazing and I was impressed with the food. 17
  • this resort is just a 10 minute drive from the airport and since we are married bon voyage members we had the luxury of an even smoother check-in process On camera10:21
  • Overall Impression: The Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort is a decent choice, but the service and elite benefits are rather lacking. 14
  • Service at this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The staff is definitely on island time and I largely felt that elite status with Marriott Bonvoy® did not get you much of anything at this hotel. 14
  • Having to wait for a room never makes me happy especially when it is pushed past the published check-in time. 14
  • The bathrooms at both the family and adult-only sides of the resort are pleasantly bright, with rainfall showers, lots of counter space, and a generous supply of towels. The cerulean, lozenge-shaped tiling is a particularly nice touch. 9
  • we were also not very impressed with the food here but the good service made it even but food is food we enjoyed and decided the plan of action for the rest of the day On camera13:01

  • The hotel is connected to a large mall with luxury brands, casino and restaurants. It is also walking distance to many great places to eat. 17
  • Central location in downtown Oranjestad, near shopping and nightlife 9
  • For us, though, staying in Oranjestad was a memorable experience. Being close to the city meant we could walk to smaller, local restaurants instead of relying on resort dining every night. 5
  • The resort is nice, overall, but it's location leaves a bit to be desired and feels a little overdeveloped. 14
  • If not for that, the hotel would have scored a little poorer as the location is in a crowded area that feels overdeveloped. 14
  • For those who want to explore beyond the resort, the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resorts location in Orana puts you right in the heart of the action. On camera35:52
  • We love being able to check into our hotel shortly after a long flight and with less than 10 minutes to the Queen Beatrix International Airport the location of Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort is unbeatable. 4

  • The staff was amazing and I was impressed with the food. 17
  • one advantage of the ocean suites is that there's a lot of life around the hotel there's a marina and a casino some restaurants and so it's easy to get out of the resort and into the local ruben scene On camera185:59
  • There was also a jacuzzi there. We had lunch one day and enjoyed the nachos and cheeseburger. 14
  • At Marina Hotel you can enjoy buffet style and a la carte Arubian cuisine at Aquarius restaurant and a top-notch steak dinner at LG Smith's Steakhouse. 6
  • I did offer the breakfast plan which for Robert who works here instead of the $35 per day it would be $22 per day so that's going to be $66 total for my stay here you know it's just good to have so you don't have to think about what you're going to eat for breakfast each day On camera208:31

  • Whatever the reason, this trendy hub is popular with guests. There's a good array of food on offer, from L.G. Smith's Steak & Chop House to bar food at Papagayo Bar & Grill, and almost everything comes in a la carte or buffet form. 9

  • Additionally, some visitors have commented on the high prices, feeling that the value doesn't always match the cost. On camera37:27
  • While the resort fee isn't cheap, at least it bundles in the water shuttle to the private island, which most guests will use daily. 5
  • The biggest draw for me to stay at this property was the private Renaissance Island. I wrote about my experience feeding flamingos and iguanas there. It's a nice space and the boat ride justifies the resort fee (this is something you hardly ever hear me say about these fees). 14
  • The walls and leather accents -- both done in cream -- manage to look both classy and a bit sexy at the same time. It's worth mentioning that not all rooms here are spacious -- at least by upscale Caribbean resort standards. 9
  • Resort fees are just money grabs, but at least the private island made it feel a little more worth paying. 14
  • Personally, $350 for a week at a beach resort anywhere is cheap; you can't even get a Motel 6 anywhere for that price. 15
  • I don't remember how much it was but it's kind of expensive for the all inclusive option so I would recommend not doing that and just getting things out of the car On camera208:10
  • The rooms themselves aren't worth the nightly cash rates alone, but if your goal is to see the flamingos, this is your best bet. Booking with points or a free night certificate makes the value much easier to justify 5
  • There are five Cabanas to rent ($475 a day). That includes some soft drinks, snorkel masks, a couple of floats a bottle of Champagne, fruit and a server who will bring food to your canbana. It seems a hefty price tag but shared between five friends seems manageable. 6
Noise3 mentions · 1 filmed
  • The multiple dining options, including the top-rated steakhouse, are also big hits with visitors. However, it's worth noting that some guests have mentioned noise issues, particularly due to the lively atmosphere and casino activities. On camera37:08
  • This abundance comes with a caveat though: There's just a single street that winds along the water and it is noticeably jam-packed with traffic for most of the day -- so getting to and from here is always at a snail's pace. 9
  • Renaissance Island is near airport, so it can be noisy 9

  • all right so we got a bathroom here not bad I like this sort of shower setup 20
  • The bathroom was not large, but the toilet was spaced enough from the shower. 14
  • The really bad part was the bathroom. There was a lot of mold all over the tiles and ceiling. The light fixture above the shower was hanging down. 15
  • let's check out the bathroom it looks decent size and modern too On camera11:35
