The verdict

Read it your way

Peppers Waymouth Adelaide is a central city hotel featuring comfortable beds and a popular on-site restaurant. Guests regularly highlight the helpful staff and the convenient location close to downtown shopping, dining, and attractions. However, rooms show occasional signs of wear, with guests noting aged furniture, maintenance issues in the bathrooms, and street noise. 4201322

  • The staff receive frequent praise for being kind, attentive, and providing an efficient check-in experience. 136
  • Reviewers also widely agree that the beds and pillows are exceptionally comfortable and that the on-site ground floor restaurant serves quality food. 13

The catch

  • While some guests appreciate the well-organised bathrooms with baths and pleasant amenities, others point out chips, stains, and an awkward window facing the bedroom. 6
  • Room views are another point of division, ranging from pleasant outlooks over the city to depressing views of a carpark with windows that do not open. 22

  • And another thing . This is a very good sized and well-organised bathroom. It contains all the usual features, plus a bath (albeit facing the wrong way to watch TV). 6
  • And another thing . It is even set up so that the mirror on the wall outside the bathroom, reflects in the mirror opposite, inside the bathroom, so you get that weird infinity effect, but its also great if you need to check yourself out back and front. 6

  • This was a great desk. The black granite top was mouse-friendly, and the separate lamp, with a wall-mounted switch, was excellent (no searching for a switch located halfway down the power cord). 6
  • The room also comes with a bucket chair, which is great if you need to read but don't want to recline in the lounge chair. It's set up with a coffee table next to it, which is perfect. 6

  • I like the sauna, location, food was great, and the staff were great. 13
  • The televisions have really crappy reception and resolution. I think it's still analogue, and tends to have lines and interference, and is quite sluggish to react to the remote. 6
  • I stayed at peppers back in Feb. No complaints at all, was really happy with the service. 22
  • Grand Hyatt hotel has met our expectations. Our flight was very late and they allowed us to have late check out at 4 pm without extra charges. 13
  • In addition to the terrific location, recently refurbished hotel interior, exceptional service and world-class dining, the hotel also offers a great set of amenities. 2
  • The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and the staff were courteous and helpful. 13
  • The Peppers Waymouth burger was a little meagre and soulless. From the plastic cover and disposable salt and pepper to the brown paper serviette, this is not a quality service. 6
  • Great Hotel, excellent location, attentive staff, always happy when we stsy here 13
  • No complaints at all, was really happy with the service. Food was pretty decent too and had wide range of cuisines. 22
  • Edit: he was also rude as fuck to me and definitely seemed pissed off I had interrupted his gaming session. 8

  • MAC is an Adelaide treasure. So many hazy memories. It's a side-street off Hindley so is exactly what you ought to expect. Also, front desk man has a heart of gold deep down. 8
  • Excellent food (not just cereal for breakfast), friendly staff, good internet. 22
  • From top-notch service to stellar facilities, here are five reasons why you should check-in on your next visit to the city. 2
  • I was in the Pullman a couple months ago and it wasn't fun but it was much better than expected. Excellent food (not just cereal for breakfast), friendly staff, good internet. 22
  • The front desk guy had the worst BO, was eating an entire fucking meatlovers pizza & the entire lobby/desk area was stinky like he had been farting in there because he was alone. 8

  • Loved the facilities the restaurant on the ground floor was really nice some of the best food ive eaten in a long time. 13
  • The food there was excellent - honestly like getting uber eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 22

  • Spent our time here greatly. Appreciated their on-site restaurant Essay Kitchen, it was good. 27
  • Food was great. Only thing I didn't like was breathing aircon air for 2 weeks straight. 22
  • When it comes to dining, Eos by Skycity offers an exceptional culinary experience at its two restaurants. 20
  • Food was questionable at times (u get multicultural stuff so sometimes u get weird food) but otherwise edible. Sometimes u hit jackpot (like steak, lamb, etc) or sometimes u get meh (fish with veggies), by which time then we'd get ubereats sometimes. 22
  • I stayed in the Pullman last year. The food there was excellent - honestly like getting uber eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 22

  • I like the sauna, location, food was great, and the staff were great. 13
  • The hotel's in-house restaurant TUTTO Cucina + Bar is making a name for itself in the Adelaide food scene, serving up fresh and authentic Italian cuisine in an open-style kitchen. 2
  • Standard check-in begins at 2:00 p.m., giving you plenty of time to settle in, and check out is at 11:00 a.m. This allows you to enjoy a relaxed final morning, perhaps by savoring a delicious breakfast at the hotel's on-site restaurant before you begin your journey home. 4

Room18 mentions
  • In my opinion, this is really a 4.5-star hotel. The lack of slippers and bathrobes, the aged furniture, lack of attention to detail, and meagreness of generosity in things like room service meals make it so. 6
  • The hotel features 120 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, each with elegant decor and luxurious amenities. 20
  • Although configuration is a little different in some rooms, essentially the desk area faces in the opposite direction to where the TV is. I often work at the desk in the evening in hotel rooms and have the TV on for company. That works OK, but if something catches my attention on TV, I have to stop working and swing around 180º to take it in. Not ideal. 6
  • Unfortunately, the pneumatics of the desk chair were not great. Despite being adjusted 'up', this chair would slowly sink during the day whether being sat in or not. 6
  • The room is a good size (34 sqm), but its most notable feature is the bathroom that has frosted double sliding doors as an entrance, and also a window (fortunately with blind) to the rest of the bedroom. 6
  • Make sure you buy spray and wipe and some cloths as the room gets a little dusty after a bit. 22
  • This hotel has 120 rooms and suites, all of which are stylishly decorated and feature high-quality amenities such as Nespresso machines and free Wi-Fi. 20
  • The Hotel Indigo Adelaide, located right in the middle of Chinatown, is a boutique hotel that offers stylish rooms with unique decor. 20
  • Each room has been expertly curated to showcase contemporary style with an influence of European grandeur, and with over nine room types to choose from, from a standard guest room to deluxe suite and beyond, there's something to suit every kind of traveller. 2
  • I had a depressing view of a carpark and no open window, so that sucked. 22
  • And another thing . There are pushbuttons for the lights all over this room, and it's hard to work out what controls what. The good thing is that they are everywhere, so you can control things, it's just a bit hit and miss. I really appreciated the wall control for the desk lamp. 6
  • The kettle had that weird ass calcium build up in it. 8
  • This was a great desk. The black granite top was mouse-friendly, and the separate lamp, with a wall-mounted switch, was excellent (no searching for a switch located halfway down the power cord). 6
  • Below the coffee machine is the bar fridge, which in this room was a little under-resourced. On other stays, the fridge has tended to have more, and a wider selection of options. I think every fridge I have used in this hotel has something missing. This one is without a shelf or two. 6
  • Unfortunately, the 'reading' lamps are not quite at the right height to be actually useful for reading in bed. 6
  • No Slippers provided in this hotel, so I feel like I am about to catch something from the carpet at any minute, and given the somewhat cursory cleaning of the room during my stay, that feels like a distinct possibility. 6
  • The room also comes with a bucket chair, which is great if you need to read but don't want to recline in the lounge chair. It's set up with a coffee table next to it, which is perfect. 6
  • The wardrobe, minibar, and luggage storage are located adjacent to each other. Very convenient. 6

Bathroom7 mentions
  • "Need some maintenance. Broken bathroom, dirty and stained carpet, old air conditioner, not washed blankets( found someone's hair a lot on the blanket.. ) and some stain on the toilet which obviously they haven't cleaned properly." 8
  • And another thing . There is what I presume was a lighted panel behind the toilet. It no longer seems to have a functioning light in it, which is a pity, as this area is a bit of a black hole. 6
  • And finally, the window into the bathroom - one of the stupidest hotel design ideas of the century. The only excuse for this design failure is so you can lie in the bath and watch the TV off to the left of the picture below. 6
  • The shower cubicle is on the small side. 6
  • Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good size. 27
  • And another thing . It is even set up so that the mirror on the wall outside the bathroom, reflects in the mirror opposite, inside the bathroom, so you get that weird infinity effect, but its also great if you need to check yourself out back and front. 6

  • The kettle had that weird ass calcium build up in it. You can get better places in the cbd for similar or less pricing believe it or not. 8
  • On the other hand, the rooms are large, they have bathtubs, fast internet (despite connection issues), friendly service, and are usually under the price of other Adelaide 5 star hotels. 6
  • I've stayed at the Intercontinental next to the Train station a few times. Always had a fairly decent view for a fairly decent price. 16
Noise1 mention
  • The room was gross - stained bedding, cigarette burns on the quilt, noisy ass because it was so close to Hindley & then the street cleaners started super early in the morning. 8
