The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

The Omni Fort Worth Hotel provides spacious rooms with plush bedding and large work desks near Houston Street dining. Guests praise the welcoming service and convenient on-site amenities, including a heated pool and lobby Starbucks. However, several reviewers feel the property is expensive and hard to justify, noting street noise from trains and worn hallway carpets. 141517

Skip it if

  • Frugal travelers sensitive to high nightly rates
  • Light sleepers bothered by train and motorcycle sounds

  • I had a single king bed, which was quite comfortable. Not quite a Westin Heavenly Bed but on par with a Marriott mattress. The bed had ample pillows for two people, and more than enough for just me. 14
  • In my notes I wrote that the bed pillows are just okay but doing my research, I see that the Omni offers guests a choice of three types of pillows. 15

Food10 mentions
  • She sent up toothpaste within three minutes and then called back to make sure it was delivered. There's a Starbucks in the hotel lobby and a solid restaurant with a great breakfast buffet for $19. 15
  • Bowie House is now open and amazing. Seems similar to the Drover feel and restaurant was great. 6
  • There's a Starbucks in the hotel lobby and a solid restaurant with a great breakfast buffet for $19. You have to love that the maids come twice a day and drop off two bottles of water each time. 15
  • I went and had lunch at the hotel restaurant. They had a buffet with beef brisket set at 17.99. The food was okay, although I am not sure I ate twenty dollars worth at lunch. 14
  • Bob's Steak & Chop House is a Dallas favorite, and now it's a Fort Worth favorite, too. You can't go astray with the massive, 22-ounce "côte de boeuf"-a prime bone-in ribeye with a loaded baked potato and, perhaps most intimidatingly, the shockingly large glazed carrot that comes with your meal. 5
  • Whiskey and Rye server Bo can whip up butter noodles and chicken tenders for kids even if not on the menu. 17
  • Bikes that you can borrow also. We also ate at the Wicked Butcher that was a couple of blocks down the street. Possibly the best meal I've ever had! 6
  • Bob's Chop Steakhouse is a solid dinner option nearby. 17
  • Previous visitors rave about the food served here, praising Cast Iron's breakfast buffet for its variety and Whiskey & Rye for its wide selection of drinks. 4
  • Breakfast has an omelet station and a buffet with many quality selections. Coffee is available for self-serve. 12
Service7 mentions
  • The rooms all feature a touch of Texas as well as natural linens, plush bedding with saddle blanket throws and stitched pillows. 15
  • My room was clean and serviced daily. Although they seemed to wait until late in the day to service it. 14
  • It's nice, rooms are comfy and well appointed. 18
  • I'm a fan of the Sinclair, but all the others are nice too. We've stayed at the Kimpton Harper a few times and really like it, the "front desk" is on the top floor with a really cool bat with amazing views. 6

  • Posted 09 February 2020 - 09:49 PM I stayed at the Omni for the first time this weekend and it is fast approaching the need for a remodel. Our room had a non-working TV (that we really did not need, but still), one non-working lamp, and mold in the tub. 1
  • Anything I need to consider? It's nice, rooms are comfy and well appointed. HVAC works great. Gonna be plenty of room. 18

  • Our room had a non-working TV (that we really did not need, but still), one non-working lamp, and mold in the tub. There are several things that made the room feel dated: dark, drab walls with peeling wall paper that also made the room feel like a cave, no USB outlets, a tub shower versus a walk in. 1
  • The room was great, awesome water pressure. 6
  • The room was spacious with a definite nod to the cow-town roots of Fort Worth. The history was evident in the colors, the leather and the prints hanging on the wall. 14
  • Gonna be plenty of room. There is a fridge in the room. 18
Location6 mentions
  • I do agree with you in that it seems like there was poor planning from a pedestrian standpoint. As you know, I lead Downtown Walking Tours and almost every tour goes past the main entrance of the hotel and there is always congestion along Houston Street. 1
  • The hotel was located at the far end of Houston street, with numerous restaurants and bars to choose from. It was very convenient to get to inexpensive dining establishments and the entertainment nearby was decent as well. 14

  • Downtown Fort Worth's striking glass landmark impresses with its size and Texas-inspired design, perfectly positioned for business travelers near the convention center. 20
  • Conveniently located in a cultural area only a few steps from JFK Tribute, this upscale hotel has 632 rooms. 12

Noise3 mentions
  • One glaring issue was the hallway carpet: it is awful and probably should have been replaced 5 years ago. Trampled down with bad traffic stains. 1
  • That forces a lot of pedestrian traffic into and across the busy valet lanes. Those routes push people out onto the wider sidewalks on Houston Street, but, oh wait, the valets use the sidewalk in front of the the porte cochere as a 3rd valet lane. Complete chaos. 1
  • The hotel doors could use a sweep to block out hallway noise and the windows aren't that soundproof so you can hear trains and motorcycles going by. 15
Bathroom3 mentions
  • Shower water pressure is excellent with a heated pool and hot tub on site. 17
  • The room was great, awesome water pressure. 6
  • The bathroom was large, with the sink inside with the large walk-in shower and toilet. There was no bathtub, which is fine with me. 14
