Novotel Hong Kong Citygate is a functional stopover hotel directly connected to the Citygate Outlets mall and convenient for flights at HKG. Guests praise the efficient free airport shuttle, comfortable bedding, and effective soundproofing against airplane noise. However, the breakfast buffet draws criticism for mediocre food quality, and the location sits at least half an hour away by train from the city center. 101212

  • In the Novotel Citygate superior room bathroom was a deep soaking bathtub. And it was relaxing to chill out there! 19

  • The airport shuttle takes about 10-15 minutes between the hotel and Hong Kong International Airport depending on traffic in the area. The location if you are exhausted after a long flight is perfect! 2
  • Not only is the location perfect for those visiting Hong Kong Disneyland (but want to save money by staying off property) but it is also super convenient in terms of dining, shopping, and accessing the MTR. 5

  • Amazingly, despite being able to literally see the airport from my window, I never so much as heard a plane or even any traffic sounds from below. Furthermore, we never even heard any of our neighbors during our stay (maybe we heard someone in the hallway for a few seconds but that was it). 5
  • I almost always have an elevator section in my reviews - and I'm happy to report that Novotel Citygate's elevators get a passing grade from me. For one, I love how available cars in the lobby leave the doors open so they're easy to spot. Second, there are six elevators that service the guest room floors, which seemed perfectly sufficient. 5

  • Richmond Hotel Fukuoka Tenjin: Best Deal for Your Money 15
  • Actually, Ibis North Point isn't bad at all.... The location is very good, MTR station just next door... Very good value for budged travelers... 20
  • The breakfast was an extra cost but certainly worth the money, they had a very large range of both continental, traditional and Asian options. 2
  • Then, the toiletries are complete, not sure though if they're gonna charge you next time (as was indicated in Hotel Madera Hong Kong). 15
  • in my sixth time here in Hong Kong realize how accessible this hotel is to almost every place I want to go to it also save me a lot of money on Transportation alone On camera80:17
  • I love this hotel for its proximity to the airport and what a blessing to have a free shuttle bus service to and from the airport big deal for us with a lot of luggages we save money from riding taxi On camera80:41
  • The rooms aren't large but suffice for a "transit" hotel. We stayed at the HK Airport Regal Hotel for one night back in 2015. It definitely wasn't cheap, but we needed a place to sleep 4 of us as our scheduled flight out of HK was very early. 21
  • High-speed Wi-Fi is available but for a fee and Executive rooms have Nespresso machines and iPod docks. 10

  • Actually, Ibis North Point isn't bad at all.... The location is very good, MTR station just next door... 20
  • I see a lot of mention of Novotel Citygate...no love for the Silveri? Also Accor, almost same location. Plus the rooms are nicer. 11
  • Novotel Citygate is a luxurious property that provides guests with airport convenience and easy shopping access. 12
  • We've stayed at the Novotel Citygate twice....free shuttle to/from the airport, connected to a large shopping mall and a few minutes walk to the Big Buddha gondola. The rooms aren't large but suffice for a "transit" hotel. 21
  • About 5 kilometers away from this Novotel Hotel is the airport. Therefore making it great if you're wanting hotels near Hong Kong airport. 19
  • The airport shuttle takes about 10-15 minutes between the hotel and Hong Kong International Airport depending on traffic in the area. The location if you are exhausted after a long flight is perfect! 2
  • Location wise, maybe it's not suitable for all of us, but its perfectly suit me. Located at Tung Chung, this hotel just 10 minutes by the hotel free shuttle mini van from the airport. Being next to Tung Chung MRT station, it give me an easy access to all part of HKG. 20
  • Airport shuttle is quite convenient not too much of a walk from the terminal maybe 3-4 mins. 1
  • We've only taken this from the hotel to the airport - but apparently you can catch it from the airport as well. These shuttles also run fairly late into the night (11 p.m. or so), which was great for our midnight flight. So, this was a great added bonus for our stay. 5
  • I've stayed at the regal airport many times before an early flight and there's nothing wrong with it Not 5 star but perfectly ok and so easy to walk to the airport - it's connect and just a short 5 min indoor walk. 1
  • Bedding is particularly comfortable and there's very little in the way of noise from the nearby airport. 10
  • Novotel Citygate mempunyai fasilitas shuttle bus gratis menuju dan dari Hong Kong International Airport. Jika tiba di HKIA, Anda cukup menuju counter B16 di arrival hall, lalu tinggal naik shuttle bus hotel yang intervalnya setiap 15 menit. Lumayan menghemat biaya transport :) 13
  • Plus, the free airport shuttle and proximity to HKG make it easy to get to before or after what is often a long travel day. 5
  • While the hotel is close to the airport, we hardly noticed any plane noise, which was great for a good night's sleep. 19
  • There's actually several other sightseeing and activities easily accessible from the hotel. It was an efficient shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel. The Novotel Citygate shuttle bus stopped at the front of the hotel entrance. 19
  • The location of the hotel, the grandioseness of the Hotel is really good. 6
  • Both are connected to city gate mall with plenty of food options and both offer free shuttles to the airport. Airport shuttle is quite convenient not too much of a walk from the terminal maybe 3-4 mins. 1
  • Built in 2006, the interiors are smart and super-modern, though also with the impersonal and functional atmosphere of the nearby airport that it serves. 10
  • I am pretty much sure we stayed at Regal. It was fine. Not a five star hotel but it provided what we wanted which was easy access to the airport. 21
  • Not only is the location perfect for those visiting Hong Kong Disneyland (but want to save money by staying off property) but it is also super convenient in terms of dining, shopping, and accessing the MTR. 5
Bathroom7 mentions
  • In the Novotel Citygate superior room bathroom was a deep soaking bathtub. And it was relaxing to chill out there! 19
  • One downside of the Novotel Citygate's "superior room" layout is how the bathroom integrates into the main room. Instead of having a door that leads to a separate restroom, the toilet and shower are right off the bedroom area. And while each does have a large, glass door, it still doesn't offer the highest level of privacy. 5
  • The use of glass in this open bathroom concept gives you a sense of spaciousness. You can sit and shower, something I find perfect for scrubbing feet without having to bend over. 22
  • On the bright side, the shower is roomy and offers both a handheld head and a rainfall shower head (you can use a knob to switch between them). 5
  • I like it when the toilet bowl is separated from the shower. Because when someone is in the toilet and is taking so long, I can still go on about cleansing myself. And it makes me feel like I'm in a special room because we don't usually get them separated at home. 15
  • The shower room and toilet area is designed to save space and yet offer sufficient room so that you remain comfortable. The use of glass in this open bathroom concept gives you a sense of spaciousness. 22
  • Regala Sky City hard pass (lobby looks nice but rooms tiny and crap bathroom). 1
Room15 mentions
  • Rooms at this four-star Accor Group property are comfortable and spacious for two in a room. 22
  • Wow what a great start they gave me a free upgrade and the hotel room was the size of my apartment back in Amsterdam! 2
  • Yet, once we walked in it was cold in the room, as they had turned the air conditioning on before our arrival. That's great, and we think many hotels of this level and above should do this, especially when the weather is hot. 19
  • After a long trip it was a relief that the bed was super comfortable, the room had a lovely bath with a TV so you could relax and catchup on the news you missed over the last day while travelling. 2
  • A spacious room is very nice especially when traveling with kids. Because you know that kids need more space to play, and it's hard to make them stay in place for an hour or 2, so if you have more budget, you should consider staying here. 15
  • Next to that was a flat screen TV with a small storage area underneath it. And what we noticed in this was a random red wine bottle! What was a little annoying was that anyone could think that it was complimentary. Yet, once I checked the mini bar list this bottle of red wine was not complimentary. We thought that was a little dodgy, so beware! 19
  • Views from my room.... I can sit there for hours just to watch the aircraft movement at HKG airport... 20
  • Plus, the room was clean and comfortable, and if we wanted to do work the area we had was sizeable. 19
  • I stayed at the Premier Suite room.... Maybe this 4* hotel's suite not just like other 5* hotel's suite (especially W's room which I stayed next). But it's very nice. Love the minimalist decor and the wide window. And a good value for your money... 20
  • I stayed at the Premier Suite room.... Maybe this 4* hotel's suite not just like other 5* hotel's suite (especially W's room which I stayed next). But it's very nice. Love the minimalist decor and the wide window. 20
  • By the window, you'll find blackout curtains that worked quite well. 5
  • They also let you take the airport luggage trolley right into your room (unusual for HK, the room is actually big enough!) 1
  • I also really liked the desk, seeing as this was a business trip. 5
  • Overall the room and bathroom was comfortable and clean, which was great. 19
  • As for downsides, the layout of the room may not be great for platonic travel partners as the separation between the bathroom and bedroom is near non-existent. 5
View4 mentions
  • Btw, their Harbour View Rooms have a stunning view, especially on the higher floor. 20
  • Views from the lounge.... I was really enjoying the view from the lounge..... 20
  • Depending on your room type, you may get a nice view of the residential apartments, mountain and sea view. 22
  • Sometimes, you just want to relax and enjoy the view, and what else would make you forget all your worries but the Citygate Outlet, cable cars operating, and a great city view. Novotel Citygate didn't fail in this part, because I especially liked the wonderful window view it has. 15

  • As I noted up thread, I got offered a very late check out at the Regal, well beyond what I was actually asking for. 11
  • Walaupun masih pagi buta untuk ukuran hotel, saya bisa melakukan check-in dan mendapat kamar langsung, walaupun dapatnya twin bed (request awalnya double-bed). 13
  • Check-in can also get very busy at times with the arrival of multiple airlines' passengers. 10
  • also the hotel staff are very friendly and generous with toiletries On camera81:01
  • Throughout the hotel the excellent and efficient service displayed by the staff was impressive. We were looked after great in the Premier Lounge. And it provided a quiet, relaxing area to enjoy lovely views of Lantau Island and Hong Kong. 19
  • Get the best tips from someone who's known the Hong Kong people and places. We found a plate with mini pineapple cake on the table, and it's a nice way to welcome guests, because not all hotels have snacks like this. 15
  • Throughout the hotel the excellent and efficient service displayed by the staff was impressive. 19
  • Novotel in Citygate (Tung Chung). Nice rooms, nice area, and fairly big mall (Citygate) with cinema and places to eat etc. 1
  • She asked if we needed help with our luggage, but we declined. It was a pleasant and efficient check in process. We were finding since landing in Hong Kong, how efficient people were in doing their jobs! 19
Food4 mentions · 1 filmed
  • Rooms are more spacious than most, with tea/coffee facilities, minibars, and large flat-screen TVs. 10
  • Yet, the major big downside was the breakfast. And while the sheer size of the restaurant was big, and there was a good variety of foods... the quality didn't match. So many of the foods we tried lacked seasoning. 19
  • my most favorite part is the hotel is adjacent to citygate outlet an outlet mall with a wide range of brand name stores restaurants and a cinema On camera81:09
  • With three restaurants -- Essence, Olea, and Moccato -- the hotel provides plenty of dining options which range from Asian fusion to Mediterranean cooking. 10

  • For me, that's a big sign that the elevator situation at this hotel is optimal. Although the rooms at Novotel Citygate aren't exactly large, they do make good use of the space. 5
