Room8 mentions
  • However, across from the bed, the room quickly became antiquated. The work desk and media console showed age, especially the TV. 2
  • Renovated rooms at the venue have cable channels, a kitchenette and ironing facilities. Magnolia Hotel Houston, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel offers a captivating view to its guests. They are also decorated with an elegant furniture. 15
  • Despite being a historic building, the hotel failed to connect the dots, and my room tried to marry traditional and modern design elements but failed miserably. 2
  • Hotel was kind enough to upgrade me to a high floor, corner suite. Super quiet, lovely views, full kitchen and separate seating area. 12
  • The first impression of the bedroom was "transitory"; some parts of the room were updated and renovated, but some antiquated design and tech elements were still present. 2
  • The mini-fridge and a generic coffee maker were tucked away on the way to the bathroom. I opened the mini-fridge to store my water bottle, but it was broken. 2
  • Most rooms include spacious layouts, high-quality linens, and in-suite amenities such as flat-screen TVs. 15
  • The work chair was stained, and the media console and work desk had scuff marks all over them. 2
Food6 mentions
  • The restaurant at the hotel (The Dispatch) was pretty good and not ridiculously priced. 12
  • The breakfast menu didn't have anything extraordinary, so I reluctantly ordered Breakfast Tacos and a cup of coffee. 2
  • One last, delicious note: Brilliant Oaxacan restaurant Xochi occupies the building's first floor. 17
  • I asked for a check after eating only half of my dish. Even though I was the only one dining on the entire floor, it took the waitress more than 15 minutes to deliver the check. 2
  • Breakfast was ok if you get vouchers. Would not pay the $20+ for it. 12
  • The hotel is also home to restaurants including Part & Parcel, an al fresco favorite for small plates and reasonably priced cocktails, some of which feature Sotherly's private label bourbon, Edgar's Truth. 17
Service13 mentions
  • Both hotels were nice, clean etc, but Magnolia went the extra mile. It had more charm, better beds and more amenities than the Hyatt. 3
  • Spacious rooms, attentive staff and a prime location: Reviews of Le Méridien reveal why the hotel has been a dependable refuge since renovations finished in 2017. 17
  • The "poolside cabanas" were desperate for outdoor cushions, and there was no sign of spare towels to be found anywhere by the pool. 2
  • The pool reminded me of a budget hotel, and the breakfast service at the Magnolia Lounge was slow and dreadful. 2
  • Reviews call the family-owned Lancaster "exquisite" and "romantic," heaping specific praise on the friendly staff, beautiful rooms, and complimentary Champagne welcome. 17
  • Housed in a 1926 downtown landmark, the Magnolia blends historic character with stylish, retro-modern rooms-a boutique alternative to Houston's convention chains, praised for comfort and efficient service. 11
  • I liked the hospitality at the hotel. They were kind and appreciative of status and non status members alike. 12
  • We took it to Reliant for a Show. We never had a problem with service as some have mentioned. 3
  • After browning more historic photos, I checked in, and the front desk agent was friendly and cheerful. Although I stayed for one night and check in on a Tuesday night, I wasn't upgraded even with my Titanium Elite status. 2
  • The staff provide courteous, professional service, with specific mentions of helpfulness at the front desk, valet, and restaurant staff for attentive assistance during stays and dining experiences. 15
  • Mag is nice and their burger and salads are very good. 12
  • After browning more historic photos, I checked in, and the front desk agent was friendly and cheerful. 2
  • Bedding and linens are amazing, some of the best we've experienced. 14
Location8 mentions
  • Happy reviewers highlight the hotel's beauty, surprisingly large rooms and convenient location. 17
  • Press the question mark key to get the keyboard shortcuts for changing dates. Just a few blocks west of Minute Maid Park, this hotel impresses travelers with its location and amenities. 14
  • The hotel's central location makes getting just about anywhere easy, whether it's Minute Maid Park for the Astros home opener or Toyota Center for the latest can't-miss stadium music tour. 17
  • Close to Market Square Park, Hotel ICON also makes visiting landmarks a walkable breeze-check out La Carafe, the candlelit wine bar tucked inside the oldest commercial building in Houston. 17
  • Chef Richard Sandoval's pan-Latin steakhouse Toro Toro is a draw for travelers and locals alike, while the hotel is also an easy walking distance from downtown standouts such as whiskey haven Reserve 101. 17
  • Convenient downtown location just 20 minutes away from the nearest airport 19
  • The location is great too. It's half way between the Theater District and Minutemaid. It's a block from Main Street and the light rail line. 3
  • Internet was extremely fast (close to 1GB up and down) and there was a box by the table next to the windows to wire your laptop. 12
View1 mention
  • Magnolia Hotel Houston, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel offers a captivating view to its guests. 15
Bathroom8 mentions
  • The bathroom featured a single sink granite vanity, and extra light bars embedded in the vanity mirror provided an extra layer of light, brightening the room. 2
  • The shower was equipped with communal toiletries from Lather, and the conditioner's dispenser was broken. I soon realized that the bathroom featured a jumble of different toiletry brands - Pure by Gloss, Archive, and Lather- none of which were outstanding. 2
  • Gorgeous bathrooms feature marble and granite, and each has a separate walk-in shower and big soaking tub. 19
  • Kind of surprised there was a tub shower, but this one was oval and large so it was better than a usual tub shower (which I don't like.). 12
  • The bathroom was AMAZING!!!! Marble counters, nice tile floors, and huge mirror!! 3
  • The step-in shower had a standard showerhead, and unfortunately, the water pressure was really weak. 2
  • Bathroom had adequate lighting for makeup, good counter space and a magnifying mirror. 12
  • Excellent shower head and over the top shower accessories (shampoo, body soap, etc). 3
