  • The first day into the trip we had to have maintenance come and fix our shower because the hot water handle just fell off while I was taking a shower. Literally never seen anything like this. 3
  • The room walls and bathroom are in really poor condition. We definitely landed in the wrong place, but to charge customers the amount they do they should be ashamed. 13

  • I can attest there was definitely some upkeep issues with the place because it is old. Our room felt like it was recently redone. It maintained some of the old charm of what was likely the original architecture with the furniture to match the time period. 3
  • Off-white walls, white bedspreads, oak furniture, and reddish-orange accent cushions, chairs, and banquettes add warmth and balance out the overall look. 10

  • The lobby was sick as you mentioned and the staff was really great - maybe overaccommodating because they knew that place sucked. 3
  • The Embassy Suites is a four-star hotel with valet parking, polite and helpful concierge service, daily housekeeping, dinnertime room service, and a nightly evening reception, where guests get two complimentary drinks and light appetizers. 1

  • With its moderate prices, generously sized rooms, indoor pool, and complimentary hot breakfast, this is a great hotel choice for families. 14
  • It wasn't a terrible stay but it was costly. Then again, I do understand that this was Portland and the cost to accommodate 6 people for a week is going to be expensive where ever we'd decide to stay. 3

  • Hampton Inn side is way better. They share a breakfast area and I'm biased because I hate hampton inn breakfast everywhere. 7
  • If ordering breakfast room service is your favorite way to enjoy the last few hours of a hotel stay, you may be disappointed to learn that in-room dining is only available during dinner hours. 1
  • I personally stay at Hampton Inn in South Park. It has an amazing breakfast. 2
  • I actually enjoy the Hampton Pearl District a lot in terms of clean and modern. But it is a Hampton, so you have the limited Hampton-style breakfast. 3
  • You could also look at Home2 for suite options. Might be cheaper on points. Don't book if you are paying, though, because you get half the points value as Embassy or Homewood. The breakfast is pretty bad though, it's microwave breakfast sandwiches . 13
  • Thankfully they comped breakfast (the hominy grits are great) and the $10 daily parking and they said they'd add some points, so at the end of the day we made out better than the initial plan, it was just disconcerting at first. 2
  • I love staying here! Great location, great happy hour and breakfast!! 6
  • Most notably, the Embassy Suites is the home of Mother's Bistro, which moved a few blocks into its larger location in 2019. The homestyle restaurant is a must-visit for brunch-if you're unsure what to order, start with a tableside pot of French press coffee and the cornflake-dipped French toast. 1
  • Kingsland Kitchen, the other on-site restaurant, has a noteworthy full English breakfast. 1
  • Breakfast at ES is a lot higher quality. The made to order omelets alone are a big step up. 13
  • Embassy suites is a better breakfast, but only guarantees 2 free breakfasts per room for gold & diamond members. 13
  • Fabulous breakfast set up. Extremely large pool and hot tub. Would highly recommend. 6
  • The breakfast is pretty bad though, it's microwave breakfast sandwiches . 13
  • I thought the breakfast was p on par for Hampton Inn breakfasts. They did have the custom omelet station which was cool. 3
  • I prefer embassy for the breakfast and complimentary happy hour. 13

  • The Embassy Suites Hotel in Charleston is the biggest scam. A total tourist trap. We paid $400 a night plus parking for a place that looks like the furnishings were bought at the Salvation Army or Goodwill!!! 13

  • The downside to Homewood is that standard rooms are often "studio suites". If you want a separate bedroom and living area, you'll usually be paying for a premium room. 13
  • I prefer embassy for the breakfast and complimentary happy hour. what i don't like is that some locations have extremely outdated furniture which makes or breaks my stay. 13

  • Agreed. Embassy Suites have outdated furniture, the one I work at near Disneyland California, people are constantly complaining about the a/c... 13
  • The rooms are traditionally decorated with dark-wood furniture-from the armoire and Queen Anne chairs to the tufted bench and bergères-that complements the building's neoclassical exterior. 1

  • :-) https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/clthhhf-hilton-charlotte-uptown/ It is 15 minutes of a drive to and from the airport. It is a great hotel, and since you're uptown, all the other buildings, restaraunts, shops, are all walkable. 7
  • Stayed at a downtown Hilton a couple of summers ago. Kinda sketchy area. Should have stayed at the Hampton Inn more uptown. 3
  • Located smack-dab in the middle of Portland's four quadrants, this hotel couldn't be more central. 1
  • The downtown location is convenient to public transportation and several shops and eating places, but the immediate surroundings can feel a bit dicey, especially at night. 10
