The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Embassy Suites by Hilton Lincoln offers spacious multi-room suites within easy walking distance of downtown dining and Memorial Stadium. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and helpful staff across the front desk and valet. However, chronic elevator bottlenecks consistently cause 5- to 10-minute waits, and room decor is visibly dated and in need of a refresh. 51310

  • Embassy Suites - My favorite. Best balance of location (for me), clean, and amenities. Very nice breakfast, and two free drinks. 2
  • Check out the Scarlett on innovation campus. There is a mill on innovation campus. There are exercise facilities but no pool/hot tub/sauna. Great restaurant and bar too. 10
  • Enjoy an exceptional complimentary breakfast with a variety of options including custom omelets and crispy bacon 12
  • But the nightly reception is ES standard, as is the morning breakfast. I will agree the breakfast could be a bit smoother in it's presentation. 9
  • If you're looking for a great dining option nearby, visit Legacy Terrace at Embassy Suites for delicious food during special events or dinners 12
  • None of us felt the happy hour and breakfast were anything to write home about. I remember the breakfast being especially bad (cold food, ran out of food?). 9

  • The carpet was dirty (and sticky in the last room!!). Anyone that knows me, knows cleanliness is my number one priority. The furniture was worn badly. 9
  • I've NEVER seen all four room level elevators working in over a decade. That is how long it's been bad. 13
  • Both of our last 2 stays there in Fort Lauderdale, the room was dirty upon entering. The carpet was dirty (and sticky in the last room!!). 9
  • The suite part is nice too. More room to move about and store things than just a standard rectangle with bathroom. 2
  • Guests agree that the rooms here could use a refresh, but they say that the staff makes up for the outdated decor. 11
  • overall we really enjoyed the room having the space actually a lot of us watched the football game that day in this bedroom On camera46:26
  • I didn't mind the ES and it's been a couple years since I was there...but I did NOT like the Hilton Marina, due to cleanliness, condition of the room and lousy staff attitude.....I will not return there..... 9
  • Neither of us noticed any kind of smell and the room was very nice aside from the fact that the toilet behind a sliding frosted glass door looked directly at the bed. That just struck me as a weird layout. 10
  • Since that time, we have stayed at the Hilton Marina (totally enjoyed our stay, room was spotless and the ships are right in your backdoor!). 9
  • I really like the layout of all Embassy suites feels so open and welcoming. 2
  • With the elevator situation, the whole place felt unsafe. We normally prefer Embassy Suites because we're a larger family and the layout works well for us, but this is definitely the last time we'll stay at this location. 13

  • Hotel staff was helpful and friendly from front desk to breakfast attendants to the valet team. 5
  • The staff as well never seemed too happy either. Our last stay was 2011. 9

  • Customer service was not good and when we arrived the last time at 8pm at night, we walked into a dirty room that hadn't been cleaned. :( Not good after a long day of travel. 9
  • Beyond that: Extreme overcrowding during breakfast and the manager's reception 13

  • There's a total of 6. Two from street level up to the lobby/main level on 4. Then four elevators from the lobby up to the room levels. I've NEVER seen all four room level elevators working in over a decade. That is how long it's been bad. 13
  • If it's a full house it's always a 20 minute wait. That's why I generally book the smaller Hampton Inn - Downtown on Illinois St. I know the location has noise issues with the fire house across the street, but it's the one Hilton hotel where the elevators aren't a major inconvenience/issue. 13
  • Don't get me started on my dislike of: The Homewood Suites in River North and the single elevator from the 8th floor skylobby down to street level. 13
  • The hotel was completely full, yet only 2 elevators were working for the entire building. Almost every single elevator trip involved a 5-10 minute wait, and that was constant throughout the stay. 13
  • Hilton Proper has nice rooms, but similar elevator issues. 13
  • We had good luck at the Embassy Suites River North with the elevators this past Labor Day weekend. We had good elevator luck at the Embassy Suites River North this past Labor day weekend. 13
