The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Club Med Magna Marbella is an all-inclusive resort set across 14 acres of gardens at the foot of the Sierra Blanca Mountains. The property delivers strong family-friendly amenities, five swimming pools, and newly updated rooms with sweeping sea views. However, reaching the beach requires a steep 30-minute walk or a taxi ride, and non-French-speaking guests report language hurdles with the staff. 352010

What travelers noticed

  • Renovated rooms feature generous balconies, motion-sensor lights, and bathrooms equipped with oversized double vanities. 16
  • Guests enjoy extensive scenic vistas across 14 acres of gardens, taking in five swimming pools, the Sierra Blanca Mountains, and the Mediterranean Sea. drawn from the full read
  • Heavy balcony doors provide strong noise insulation, keeping guest rooms quiet at night. 9

The catch

  • Some guests find the five-minute taxi ride to Marbella town convenient, while others dislike the steep 30-minute uphill and downhill walk to the beach and Old Town. 20105
  • While many reviewers appreciate the broad buffet selection and cuts at El Grill, others criticize the main dishes as repetitive and dated. 5
  • Guests often praise the welcoming staff and child care, but some visitors note that staff primarily converse in French and can be difficult to navigate in other languages. 20

Who it's for

  • Families with young children
  • Guests planning to stay on-site
  • Pool and mountain view seekers

Skip it if

  • Travelers wanting immediate beachfront access
  • Non-French speakers sensitive to language barriers
  • Guests relying on walking into town in the heat

Food23 mentions
  • The buffet was amazing with loads of choice and it was great that they didn't always have the exact same things every day. 20
  • high quality and variety of food in buffet restaurant (menu changes daily) 20
  • Though the Spanish influence is clear in many of their menu and buffet offerings in both their Tierra and Suenos restaurants, the options are always diverse, delicious, and impressively plated or prepared right in front of you. 3
  • Yes, the décor may be lavish and the food is top of the range, but the club motto is "a happy child means happy parents" and workers seemed to go above and beyond to make sure this is the case. 1
  • The food is great considering it is all buffet. Fresh seafood, carved Jamón Ibérico, grilled meats, salads that don't feel like a grind, proper Spanish dishes alongside genuinely good international options. 5
  • This impromptu barbecue matches the quality of the gorgeous Mediterranean buffets we've previously enjoyed at breakfast and lunch in the resort's Suenos restaurant, and is just one example of the many activities and events that we stumble upon by chance, or through the Club Med app, during our stay. 14
  • The main restaurant offers extensive international buffets with live cooking stations, abundant seafood, fresh Mediterranean dishes and excellent options for children without compromising on quality. 16
  • For quieter evenings, the gourmet dining restaurant provides a more refined atmosphere, ideal for lingering dinners once children are happily settled into the evening entertainment programme. 16
  • One of the big draws of the resort is the amazing food. It really is fabulous! High quality dishes, beautifully cooked with fresh local ingredients. 13
  • Diners can watch the gourmet chefs prepare their meals right in front of them and are often invited to be seated in the resort's garden for dinner. It is here where I saw the most lobster I've ever witnessed on a table and tasted the most tender fillet steak of my life. 1
  • Elevating the dining experience here are the cook-to-order stations offering everything from omelettes in the morning to freshly shucked oysters and lobster pasta in the evening. 12
  • Talking of which, Club Med's mouthwatering offerings were the equal of any top-notch standalone restaurant. 19
  • Youll enjoy the subtle flavours of saffron-infused paella and mouthwatering cuts of meat served a la plancha, as well as a menu of globally-inspired recipes such as carefully prepared hamburgers, pasta, pizza and asian cuisine. 18
  • De invloeden van de Franse verfijnde keuken wordt ook hier doorgetrokken. Zowel de à la carte restaurants als het buffetrestaurant zijn van zeer goede kwaliteit. 2
  • El Grill is undoubtedly a mandatory stop for meat lovers. In its elegant dining room, the grill takes center stage with exquisite cuts like Jersey beef ribeye, Australian wagyu ribeye, or the national beef Tomahawk. 7
  • Breakfast is a buffet affair, with an expansive range of options from cook-to-order omelette stations to fresh fruit and pastries. 15
  • Food is the usual buffet plus there is an à la carte restaurant. Buffet was good but not spectacular in my opinion 10
  • Food: one of the best Club Meds. 10
  • However, there's no real need to leave this oasis for dining or shopping, as the hotel's culinary offerings are as varied as they are exquisite, and the boutique has a carefully curated selection of clothing and accessories that are hard to resist. 7
  • Food: one of the best Club Meds. It's not that far from town centre. 10-15min walk. In March it will be an easy walk. 10
  • Buffet was good but not spectacular in my opinion 10
  • There is certainly something for every palate, and dining in either of Magna Marbella's beautifully designed restaurants is a carefree experience where friends, family, groups, or individuals can each enjoy their perfect meal. 3
  • Transfers arranged by the team at Club Med Marbella were swift, car seats were immediately available, and despite a later evening arrival, the resort had thoughtfully ensured food and drinks were still waiting for us in the restaurant. 16

  • If you need any tuition, there is no problem at all as the ClubMed staff (known as GOs or Gentil Organisateurs) are highly talented and can offer tuition and classes in all the activities provided. 13
  • Check-in was perhaps not quite as organised as it could be, but all the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. 13
  • The resort is not specifically adapted for people with reduced mobility, but nonetheless, rooms can be adjusted with ramps and handrails upon request. 7
  • Breakfast occasionally felt slightly less orchestrated than other parts of the resort, particularly during peak times, where the open seating concept created a little morning bustle. However, attentive staff and the sheer quality and variety of the offering quickly compensated. 16
  • The easy-going and fun energy of Magna Marbella's design, staff, and overall atmosphere beautifully reflects its bright and sunny surroundings, and I ended my stay with a new favorite resort o 3
  • GOs and most other staff primarily French-speaking and seem to not want to speak in other languages, can make it hard to navigate 20
  • Check-in was swift and the staff gave us an overview of where everything was before we requested a more thorough tour in the morning. 16
  • After an early-morning flight from Edinburgh airport, I was greeted with champagne by a team of friendly staff at reception before being shown to my room. 1

  • Even without a sea-facing room, the views were striking, overlooking Marbella's rooftops with glimpses of the coastline and Morocco visible in the distance. 16
  • My double bedroom had spacious shower, mini-fridge and flatscreen TV but the real treat was the Insta-tastic view from my second-floor balcony. 19
  • Spacious and bright, my sea view room makes use of a simple and sophisticated royal blue colour scheme linking Marbella's beautiful blue skies and waves. 14
  • Here, all ages are looked after. Our interconnecting rooms were exceptionally spacious, with a layout that allowed everyone to properly spread out rather than simply sleep side by side. 16
  • other reason reading lights fantastic so if you're one that likes to read in bed and you would want to disturb your partner if you're here with someone then you can just turn these lights on and it will just be on your side On camera92:55
  • The rooms are huge and airy, many of them with a glass wall, leading out onto the furnished balcony and as for the communal rooms, youll love the comfortable wicker furniture of the restaurants and spacious bar areas; all designed to make full use of the natural light and capture the scent of the sea breezes. 18
  • I also need to personally thank whoever decided every room should have double sinks because that level of marital diplomacy deserves recognition. 5
  • The resort, which is a handy 40 minutes from Malaga airport, has been almost fully booked since opening in May. There are 486 rooms and suites spread across the 10-storey building, each with their own balcony to soak up the incredible vista. 12
  • depending on the room you get you have a smaller or larger balcony this balcony is more than enough I hardly sit out here anyways but the chairs are really comfortable On camera90:58
