The verdict

Who's travelling?

Pick a traveller type to re-weight the scores and re-rank the rooms around what you actually care about.

Read it your way

Best Western Atlantic City Beach Block offers an affordable and functional stay within walking distance of the boardwalk and casinos. Housekeeping provides friendly service and keeps rooms cleaned daily for budget-conscious guests. However, the property feels dated, with plain hallways that can have a musty smell and white-washed wood furniture that is past its prime. 8119

  • Oceans is really nice but expensive. 13
  • Affordable rates compared to other hotels in Atlantic City 9
  • It is the luck of the draw. There are some paid shills here who will try to get to you to pay 300-400 a night for Ocean when it isn't worth it, and you still could end up in one of those bad rooms. 13
  • The rooms are cleaned daily. They're dated and not at all luxurious but the price is right for just a place to sleep and shower. 2
  • Yes Hard Rock is expensive now. You could stay at Resorts, which is connected by an indoor walkway. Rooms are a little older but they're clean. 2

  • Furniture is white-washed wood that is past its prime -- we spotted some pieces that were cracked, scraped, and worn -- and artwork depicting beach scenes looks washed out. There was also a musty smell in our room. 8
  • If you do stay at Ballys do not stay in the Dennis tower. I have ptsd from the last room we had there. 2
  • Consider booking a room with updated amenities or requesting maintenance if encountering issues like broken fixtures or non-functional USB plugs 9

  • Color schemes are unappealing, with gold accent walls, drapes, and carpet alongside aqua doors and molding, and burgundy bed toppers and skirts. 8
